Moreno 820 Design Apartments — Hotel in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

We stayed here for 5 nights whilst on business in Buenos Aires last November. We could not fault the staff, who were very friendly and helpful and the location of this apartment block was great, close to supermarkets, restaurants and the metro and within easy strolling distance of the historic Plaza de Mayo and the famous Casa Rosada. It also felt like a pretty safe part of the city to be strolling round after dark. The apartment we were allocated was clean, with AC, a parquet floor, wide screen TV, DVD and and CD player. However, we have stayed in far better city apartments in other parts South America and the furnishings in this one were spartan and dated and the kitchen was very basic and poorly equipped. There was, for example, no spatula for turning eggs in a frying pan and the small selection of pots and pans were pretty old. The internet connection was intermittent and slow but the most annoying thing was the awful smell of damp. The brick built building is old and clearly has some structural problems. The bedding reeked of damp and all of our clothes absolutely stank after 5 nights here. We spotted large patches of mould on the back wall of the lower kitchen cupboards.The maid informed us that the apartment had been recently decorated which accounted for the unusual smell. They were expecting us and everything was ready to make us feel welcome right away. The apartment we got was spacious, comfortable, adequately equipped (it had an iron and ironing board which I very much appreciated), and above all spotlessly clean. It’s a great place to stay—safe, clean, located a five minute walk away from the Obelisco—, with a grocery store right around the bend and a within walking distance of Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada and the busy stores in downtown Buenos Aires. I will definitely be staying at Moreno 820 whenever I visit...

Dopo anni io e mia moglie siamo riusciti ad organizzare questa bellissima vacanza a Buenos Aires e dopo tanto girovagare su Internet abbiamo scelto un appartamento a Moreno 820.||Quando si sceglie su internet si è sempre un po sospettosi ed abbiamo fatto molti confronti, ma fra tutti ci sembrava quello che avesse la giusta qualità prezzo.||Dopo una traversata di 14 ore siamo arrivati davanti al portone, dove nonostante non avessimo avvertito sull'orario di arrivo, siamo stati accolti da una persona addetta al ricevimento (non c'è un vero e proprio servizio di check-in e va comunque concordato), l'appartamento comunque non ha deluso le aspettative ( a parte a dire il vero il bagno che avrebbe avuto bisogno di un piccolo restauro per la vasca...ma come ci ha fatto poi vedere la proprietaria è l'unico appartamento con questo difetto).||Per noi comunque questa è stata la nostra "casa" per più di 20 giorni ed è stato il nostro punto di riferimento nel nostro girovagare per la città dove più che altro frequentavamo lezioni di tango e milonga ed è veramente risultato baricentrico per i nostri movimenti in quanto praticamente a San Telmo, in prossimità di tutto il centro di Buenos Aires e, a causa della sua vicinanza all'Hotel Intercontinental con i taxi (che a Buenos Aires sono veramente a buon prezzo) sempre a disposizione.||L'appartamento era arredato con gusto con un mix tra mobili antichi e tappezzerie di gusto, inoltre è in fase di allestimento all'ultimo piano una bella terrazza con qualche attrezzo ginnico e uno spazio aperto per il relax, purtroppo con la stagione che abbiamo incontrato (fine inverno) non era...
