We enjoyed our two night stay at Monte Coiron, a set of new cabins, within easy walking distance of the town center. Our cabin had a one room with a double/queen bed, one room with 2 single beds, a kitchen, and a bathroom with plenty of hot water. They included a typical Argentine breakfast of white bread, coffee and tea. Cecelia, made some mini desserts. For a more substantial breakfast, we went to the local stores and bought some jamon crudo (think of it as a rustic prosciutto), cheese, and vegetables.||||As our daughter is a “local”, she had us visiting places that many Europeans or Americans wouldn’t know where to venture. One of the highlights of our trip was eating dinner at Cuyam-Co Truchas in Malarque, a trout farm near the Malarque dam.Wwned and operated by Cesar Roman Gatica. You need to call ahead for reservations and bring cash. How fresh is the fish? He and his staff literally catch the trout live, gut it and cook it, all within the space of a few minutes. The whole meal is trout based including trout pate, smoked trout, trout mouse, trout rosti, trout empanadas and baked trout. We paired the meal with a Jean Rivier Chenin Blanc, a crisp white wine – an incredible meal. Another highlight was spelunking in the Caverna de las Brujas (Cavern of the Witches) a safe, two hour tour of cavern/cave, probably an hour outside of Malarque. To book, go to the tourist office in Malarque. Unfortunately, we just missed the Chivo (goat) Festival, in which a goat based meal is cooked to perfection.||||For more information, read the reviews of Hotel Argentino & B&B Plaza Italia (Mendoza)), Finca De La Carmelita (San Rafael) and Silver Cord B&B (Potrerillos). Enjoy! We recommend Monte Coiron. The owners, Cecelia and Juan were lovely. Bring...
Read moreWe booked for our family of 4 based on tripadvisor reviews. The cabin was clean and comfortable, with 3 beds in the loft and the main bedroom downstairs. The cabin was tidied and breakfast for the next day (bread, jams, butter, cake) left in the fridge. It had wifi and cable tv, and an indoor pool that the girls used that was nice. The owners were friendly and helpful.||The cabins are about 100ms off the main Ruta 40, which is a spectacular drive, it is a small sign though which we missed the first time (the turnoff is next to the petrol station) and very close to the Pierre Auger Observatory. ||It is also close to La Cima restaurant (just up from the observatory) which was the best place we ate in Malargue. ||The only issues were that the tea kettle was completely scaled (because of the mineral content of the local water?) and so we used the coffee maker to boil water, only skim milk was provided (although it may have been possible to ask for whole) and also all the mugs were cracked and chipped which was a shame as it was obvious the owners had gone to a lot of trouble by providing crockery that was stamped with the property's name.||The rating is not compared to a luxury property, it is in the context of what and where it is. I would stay here again if I came...
Read moreWe were very happy to find in Malargue a quiet and safe with beautiful cabanas new and clean. ||The must: wi - fi in the cabana and everywhere on the ground outside. Picnic area and pleasant barbecue. New swimming pool Interior pleasant even in summer. Plenty of space for clothes.||Least: missing accessories in the kitchen: stove to fry, space for storing food, no tablet. Lack of intimacy between the sink of the bathroom and the kitchen (a small Curtain would be apprėciė). The lounge chairs are uncomfortable. The breakfast is so basic that it shouldn't have. ||Conclusion: it lacks details so that everything is perfect and the customer feel at home.||Hope there will be improvement because the place has lots of potential. Also lack of information on the activitės to do, markets, restaurants, small map...
