Huaira Huasi — Hotel in Municipio de Purmamarca

Wuaira Wasi (House of the Wind)||Not much wind when she where ther for three days; maybe a little in the early afternoon.||Very nice, cozy and friendly set of bungalows / apartments, with all you need to spend a gorgeous time in a place just a mile from the center Purmamarca plaza, attended by a most friendly and helpfull staff, run buy the owners, Maria Emilia and her husband, who are always present, they live on the premises, are there to help you out if needed, and are superb hosts to have a nice conversation and tell you a bit of the history of the region and places to visit. ||Very well kept and pretty gardens surrounding each of the buildings, painted in a warm red matching the surrounding beautiful mountains. ||They offer a good, generous basic breakfast in a Cozzi dining room on the same premises. ||I went there with a group of nine friends, to cycle up to the Cuesta del Lipan and on to Salar Grande, and back again to Waira Wasi. ||Steep but very pretty winding road that goes up to 4127 meters above sea level. ||Beautiful trip to do also by car or mini bus on splendidly well kept and well marked asphaltic rod.||We where occupying two buildings next to each other and stuck on to the main one, the owners home. Each building has two or three fully equipped bathrooms and accommodates four and five individual beds (in our case) up stairs.||Comfy beds, warm showers, plenty of running water,hot and cold; a relatively small living room (we never really used it as we where on the go most of the day); ample dining room as part of the kitchen and a nice barbecue / asado area outside for each building. ||Price is a bargain for what you get at Waira Wasi. Vorwort: Wir hatten eigentlich das Hotel Mirador Del Virrey Cabanas Boutique gebucht – aber als wir dort um 21 Uhr eintrafen wurde es deutlich gemacht, dass das Hotel geschlossen sei und wir zum Huaira Huasi fahren sollten – ganz klasse! Die nachfolgende Bewertung bezieht sich natürlich auf das Hotel Huaira Huasi.||||Lage: Etwa 3 km außerhalb vom Ort Purmamarca (also ein PKW notwendig) in ruhiger Lage, obwohl nicht weit von der Ruta 52 nach Chile. Das Hotel zu finden war nicht ganz so einfach, da das Hotel gem. Navi auf der Ruta 52 liegt, was nicht der Fall ist. Die gesamte Anlage mit Stein-Lehm-Häusern im Adobe-Stil passt hervorragend in die Gegend und hat einen besonderen Charme.||||Welcome: Da wir kein spanisch Sprechen durchaus ein Problem. Kommunikation auf Englisch nicht möglich. Trotz der Sprachbarriere ein „Warm Welcome“ – leider aber ohne jegliche Informationen.||||Zimmer: Wir hatten ein kleines Haus mit Wohnzimmer, einem Schlafzimmer und einem Bad. Alles war mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Zudem auch absolut sauber. Auch die Inneneinrichtung entsprach dem traditionellen Südamerikanischen Stil. Großer Fernseher (auch mit englischen Kanälen) und Kühlschrank vorhanden. Das Doppelbett war breit und bequem.||||Frühstück: Kein Buffet, was bei der geringen Anzahl der Gästekapazität auch keinen Sinn machen würde. Es gab Eier, Toast und Wurst. Wegen dem Sprachproblem nahmen wir was wir erhielten und konnten leider keine Wünsche äußern.||||Sonstiges: Das Internet war teilweise etwas langsam und „hakelig“, was aber wohl an der generellen Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit in dieser abgelegenen Gegend liegt. Parkplatz unter einem Carport auf dem Gelände.||||Fazit: Die Anlage ist durchaus als „schnuckelig“ zu bezeichnen und die Gastgeber waren sehr bemüht ein guter Gastgeber zu sein. Comfortable, nicely decorated rooms. Shower was a bit dribbly. We arrived a little late and there were problems paying with credit card. Maria was as very friendly and helpful and gave us a good dinner recommendation - Los Morteros. Quiet place to stay about a kilometer walk to town. Lovely gardens. Breakfast was basic but surprisingly good- fresh fruit salad, fresh orange juice, croissant, scone, fresh bread and tea or coffee - served by the charming Hugo. Car parking available.
