A little nervous after reading the previews reviews but turned out to be a really super little place. |Our room was exceptional clean, the sheets crisp, the bed was alttle soft but my partner and myself had one of the best nights sleep we have had in Argentina. Bathroom large and well fitted. Double spa bath and excellent water pressure and hot water. We have had issues with the internet at other hotels and this was the best we have had, which surprised us given the location. Our room had a TV and while the channel’s available was small it’s the only place we had the option to change the language to English. We eat in the restaurant as we couldn’t be bothered to go into the town and the meal was good. I had the Llama pie, a bit little like an English Shepard pie, which was tasty but my partner ordered steak which was large and well cooked (med) . Value for money the best on the menu I think. Full wine, beer and cocktails available. |I know I sound a bit like an advert for theses guys but we where both so pleased with our stay....
Read moreBed is of very poor quality, you can feel every movement of your partner besides you. And is noisy when you get out of the bed to the restroom. Reception seems to be well known of their poor attitude. The older guy is better. The younger reception won the most grouchy man of the year. Breakfast staff are all very nice and helpful. It seems to be trend so far in the hotels I've stayed here in Salta. Reception needs more training than the breakfast room. ||Hot shower was not turn on when we check in, and whatever queries you've when you reach the reception. They will try not to understand too much and said he'll send someone over and you'll have to explain to them again. ||The Double Cottage I booked has stairs leading to master bedroom and toilet. The stairs my god is scary. Definitely not suitable for old people or unfit people. ||Breakfast opens at 730am. No eggs and when I want to pay for them, they said they don't have or can't understand my Google translate app. ||We like the outdoor resto area, that's their bright spot. ||Overall, we'll never be back here again, my gf stayed 2km from me, even though is a family run hostel, her room looks great! Shower is brilliant. Owner is so nice to ensure they make her early dinner and early breakfast as we need to start our hike early every morning. And it cost half what we're...
Read moreThe communal areas, particularly the pool, are comfortable and well maintained. But the spa and massage area is not in use and looks rather abandoned.
The hotel is peaceful and in a quiet location (about 15-20 minutes walk into the town of Purmamarca, downhill on the way uphill on the way back).
Our room was small and in a state of disrepair. The ceiling fan didn’t work, the furniture floor and walls were all scuffed and scratched. The safe didn’t work. There is no air conditioning. The bathroom was in poor condition with broken tiles and a damp ceiling. The food in the restaurant was ok but not the best we had in Argentina. Breakfast had a limited choice / few options.
Finally, the staff were cold and unfriendly and we didn’t feel very welcome. When our son fell and broke his collarbone the staff eventually called us a taxi to the nearest doctor (at our insistence) but we just felt like an inconvenience rather than paying guests.
We were disappointed and felt this hotel really needed more love and care to bring it back...
