We've stayed at bacon al lago for 4 nights and days, which were one of the best so far on our trip through Argentina. The place is at 24 km from the centre of Bariloche but don't let that scare you. With bus 20 you can get to Bariloche easily, it comes and goes every 20 minutes. Also, just 30 minutes away is the harbour where many daytrips leave from. ||||The views from the living room and the bedroom onto the lake are absolutely amazing! The cabin itself is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. Now, the highlight of our stay was the owner, Rodolfo. This man knows what hospitality is and he will make you feel at home. We did not rent a car, which he found a bit weird, so he decided to drive us around for some sightseeing and even took us to the supermercado for some groceries. ||||Another plus is the asado (barbecue), which you can use while enjoying the lakeview. Be sure to ask Rodolfo where to buy the best meat, he knows his business!||||In all, we regret that we couldn't stay longer, so we hope to come back one day. ||Rodolfo, muchas gracias por todo! We cannot thank you enough for the great care you've...
Read moreBalcon Al Lago offers wonderful cabanas perched on a hillside with spectacular views of the nearby lakes and lagoons, and distant snow-capped mountains. While only a 20-minute drive from downtown Bariloche, the gorgeous Llao Llao setting feels like a world away from t-shirt and chocolate shops. We had easy access to many hiking trails, some quaint restaurants, a great coffee/ pastry shop, and the scenic Circuito Chico drive/ bike route. The cabana was spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with very comfy beds and giant picture windows -- plus a great little kitchen -- and satellite TV and WIFI that worked perfectly. There were just two of us, but the 2BR/2BA cabana would easily accommodate four people. Perhaps the best asset of Balcon Al Lago is the proprietor, Rodolfo. He was so warm and welcoming, and extremely helpful in suggesting where to visit during our unplanned week ahead: villages, inns, hiking trails, restaurants, refugios, viewpoints, tea houses, etc. He is a gem and we credit him with helping make our trip to Argentina one we'll never forget. We highly recommend...
Read moreMy husband and I are so glad we chose to stay here while visiting the Bariloche area. I did a lot of research and knew that I did not want to stay in the town center, nor on the outskirts. The most beautiful places are located a 20 minute drive from town on the Llao Llao peninsula and surrounding areas. This place was perfect for us. A self contained apartment with everything you need and gorgeous views across the lake. We also loved that there were some great restaurants very close by. The best was located right across the street! Rodolfo made our stay perfect by answering my numerous emails and questions about things to do and places to eat. From my first email correspondence with him, I could tell that I would be happy and feel very comfortable with the accommodations. Thanks to Rodolfo, we had a very memorable stay...
