NOTE: After this review was posted, we were contacted by the hotel’s Manager to talk and she made sure to make it up to us and to make a very special day out of our last one. Thank you Gabriela! ———— My family is regular, my dad used to love this hotel and this is why I came with my mom.
Great renewed Spa, nice confortable rooms, awesome breakfast, lovely views and nice details in service! Amazing drinks! A 10 + for cleanliness! The free shuttle to and from town is a plus!
In general, helpful staff and nice environment, but there is one very young white boy at the reception downstairs that is very unprofessional and is a bit rude and immature. This concerns me and cannot happen at a 5 star hotel.
We had an incident at the restaurant, we made a reservation with an almost 24 hour anticipation at a specific table that my dad loved and out of nowhere, a few hours before the reservation I received a text message changing it to a considerable earlier time. They did not ask, it was a decision made, so we had to cancel it as we could not make it on time. This was very disappointing and again, I don’t expect this to happen at a 5 star hotel.
Having said that, people at the bar and restaurant are great professionals and provide 5 star service. Food at the restaurant is great although a bit expensive and food at the bar is good.
Wifi did not work well for 2 days straight, which for someone who does not have an argentine phone plan is a problem. I was told there was a general problem in the island, but truth is I got wifi all around Ushuaia.
I liked a lot the hotel in general, but the described situations did not happen the previous times my family...
Read moreLas Hayas is a lovely hotel for a few days stay. The public areas are beautiful with well thought out configurations conducive to conversation and cocktails. There common areas sport solid décor that isn’t trailblazing but is certainly comfortable and creates an upscale rustic atmosphere. There is a good spa with above average therapists and additional daily activities like archery class, meditation and other pursuits. |Where Las Hayas disappoints is in the guestrooms themselves. They are DATED! Grandmas wallpaper and matching bedspread with tired carpeting and furnishings that scream Prince’s 1999 and not in a good way. Clearly the hotel has spent all their money renovating the public areas. I can only hope that the guestrooms will be addressed in the next phase of renovation, it is sorely needed. |Drinks and desserts in the bar area offer a lovely view but poor choice of food and dessert items that are overpriced for the quality. Drinks are mediocre art best and inconsistent in delivery and...
Read moreWe were taking one of the cruises to Antarctica and opted out of staying at Las Hayas, wanting to stay closer to the city so we could get out and meet people. The day our cruise set out we were supposed to drop off our bags at this hotel where most of the cruise guests were staying. Everyone at the front desk was friendly enough, but when we asked whether or not we were included in the complementary breakfast for our ship things went south fast. We would've been happy to pay for breakfast or even been told no however the employees decided to sit us at a small table away from all the other guests and just offer us a little coffee while staring at us and talking about us like we are trying to get something free. We did not demand breakfast we just only asked whether it was included and I can't believe they acted this way. It was incredibly rude and very uncomfortable so we left right as soon as we finished our small cups. Going back to the city now to go grab breakfast with the much...
