I cannot say enough good things about our experience and hospitality received at Tierra de Leyendas. My wife and I stopped through Ushuaia for a couple of nights during our Argentine Honeymoon at the end of December 2023 - we were so happy and thankful to have ended up at this hotel. It truly is a masterclass in Boutique/BnB hotels.
From the beginning, during the inquiry and booking stages, I received first class and genuine responses from Maia, who shares ownership of the hotel with her husband Sebastian. I reached out somewhat last minute with hopes that there would be an availability for us to stay. Maia was quick to respond and offer details on a room that was available. Once booked, she kindly shared activity suggestions and information on the area. This was so helpful for us ahead of our trip to Ushuaia. Even days before the stay, she checked in to make sure we had a ride to the hotel and were all set for our stay. Thank you so much, Maia!
Once we arrived, we were greeted by Sebastian and sat down to enjoy a warm cup of coffee and have a discussion about the city of Ushuaia and all it had to offer. I was wearing my LSU (university I attended in America) shirt and Sebastian knew exactly what it was - this blew me away and was so cool to relate to him worlds away from home! We talked basketball and backgrounds, and Ushuaian history. A very personable and comfortable experience.
We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, all prepared in-house and such quality, delicious meals. Perhaps one of the best dinners we had during our 2-week honeymoon in Argentina was the one we had at Tierra de Leyendas.
The rooms were VERY clean, comfortable and cozy. The location is perfect because it is not in the middle of the city center, but just close enough (10mins or less) to explore the town. It is also on the side of town closest to the national park, which was convenient to spend and afternoon checking the park out. All questions about logistics and local suggestions were answered by Maia and Sebastian before and during our stay.
The hotel was more than perfect for a couples or family trip to Ushuaia, and the hospitality and sincere care we received from the hosts was what made this place special. 10 out of 10 would love to visit again!! Thank you Maia...
Read moreOur family of four spent a few weeks in Argentina over the 2023 holidays. We were in Ushuaia for 5 days over New Years and stay at Tierra de Leyendas.
I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Long before we stayed there, while I was booking our accommodations, Maia was an incredible help. She was very responsive, and provided me with some excellent resources for the area, gave us her suggestions for how to fill our time there, and offered to book tours and trips as we needed them.
They provided us a free shuttle from the airport and welcomed us with a nice glass of Malbec. The hotel is a beautiful B&B-style, with a warm and rustic charm. The rooms are comfortable with spectacular views on both sides. Having a hot tub on the deck overlooking the mountains on a chilly day was a dream.
The food. The food was fantastic. Sebastian is a great chef. We ate two of our dinners here, including New Years Eve. Sebas uses only the freshest seafood and veg. The breakfast spread was perfect.
Before arriving, I wasn't sure how I felt about being further away from downtown, but in the end, I couldn't have been happier with the decision to stay here.
Thanks Maia and Sebas! Hope to see you...
Read moreTierra de Leyendas is a reason why we book smaller, not large, chain hotels every time when its possible. Personal, caring service by owner, detailed info and recommendations about National park etc. Clean room, bathroom. Candies on pillow - the best after long day in nature :) And I specially loved small notes at breakfast/dinner with historical facts and other information about region.
We found hotel on booking com, but booked directly on their home page - rate was lower there. Save money - book direct. This also supports small business owners.
Hotel owner Sebastian is also a great chef - so after long day hiking, having dinner served downstairs, with out going downtown, was a bliss!
We rented a car, so getting around was not an issue for us, but getting to city main street was never more than 200 pesos anyways. (strict 0% alco policy).
Loved to see photos on the walls from owners travels all around the world before settling down in Ushuaia for family. It was like seeing fairy tale with happy ending :)
Thank you for hospitality, all the...
