To be honest, according to European standards this is not a resort. Another downside is that without your own transport the hotel is rather in the middle of nowhere.|| ||That being said, the hotel is not exactly “at” the lake but the lake is within view and a very short (less than 5 minutes) walking distance. The lake does not offer wide sandy beaches, but it is a safe and clean place to swim and offers a lot of local charm (anything between small fishing boats and Armenian families). It is also easy to find a taxi at the nearby (also 5 minute walking distance) hospital. ||||And there is a lot to like at Maria Resort. The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean and the large and clean (albeit a tad cold) pool is fantastic. If you are looking for tranquility and/or a family oriented hotel you will get good value for money.||||In spite of the language problems (I speak no Armenian and just a few words Russian) the staff would go out of their way to help or accomodate me, even to the extent of driving me to the bus station themselves when my taxi did not show up.||||I had a lovely time...

Read moreThis is an ok hotel with a big well kept area, a good pool, a lot of green and facility for kids' entertainment.|Food is almost basic and repetitive with only 2 hot dishes but a lot of various salads.|The problem is that there is no coffee, and if something is finished, that is not a problem at all, it is just not served . |The biggest drawback is that the territory (10 min walk ) that could become the private beach of the hotel is unattended and unkept. I mean there is no beach that the hotel takes care of or cleans. Staying in such a pricey place you have no option of using a good beach. |Everything else is ok, we were given a big apartment instead of 2 rooms, it was comfortable and good. But there was no hairdryer in the room and the blankets and bedding were from the early Soviet period (old and heavy and...
