We were a large group booking 6 sites, 4 of which were ensuite sites. The ensuites were lovely and modern with heat lamps and a beautifully hot showers with decent water pressure! The sites themselves were roomy and flat and we didn’t feel like we were too close to each other.
The staff were absolutely fantastic from our first interaction when trying to arrange sites close enough to suit our group to booking and then having to move our booking due to extenuating circumstances, nothing was too hard or difficult for the staff. Troy and Teena checked in with us several times in the lead up to our great big camping trip and they were so helpful and nice to deal with.
During the weekend the staff popped over to our site to check that we were all settled and didn’t need anything and Troy also checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time.
When walking around the park if we came across the staff there was always a lovely “hello, how is your day, followed by a let us know if you need anything and enjoy the rest of your day”
Some of our group hired the pedal carts (kids and big kids) and they had a great time riding around the park for the hour.
The kiosk is well stocked with treats like slushees and ice creams, chips and choccies but also has some of the essentials in case you forget them. There’s also some lovely gifts at reasonable prices to take home and remember your Canton Beach stay.
The camp kitchen, bbq areas and bathrooms are all well maintained, clean and well stocked at all times showing that the owners and staff really take pride in the park.
We are already looking forward to booking another group camping trip soon and can’t wait to be back
Oh before I forget, my son wanted me to mention that his highlight was the amazing jumping pillow and that he loved it a lot - it was a great way to make friends with other kids staying...

Wifi is a let down but the tv reception is good. Negative- the power outlet for the powered site is too far and you may need extension lead. There are few permanents that are run down and empty. We requested for slab but the site given didn’t have the slab, we stayed on the non slab because it’s too much effort going back to the reception and we’ve been driving the whole day. There’s no activities or even coffee van or pizza nights which other sites have so it can be boring for adults sometimes. WIFI was non existent. You can log in but so weak and drops out. We stayed 3 nights and no wifi use the whole time. Maybe the tree branches could be trimmed a bit, hanging low branches in some trees.
Bonus- the streetlights that are motion sensors and lights up when you walk near and that is a safety feature esp people walking their dog at night. It is dimmed on idle and brightens up if you walk near the street lights. If you have kids this is a great place, if you are an adult, not a lot of activities offered, wifi...
Read moreWe camped here over the Labour Day weekend with two sites + 1 cabin and while it wasn’t a terrible experience overall, there are a few important things future visitors should be aware of.
One key difference from other holiday parks we’ve stayed at is that this site has full-time residents living there. It created a slightly uncomfortable atmosphere, as it often felt like we were encroaching on their space rather than enjoying a typical holiday park environment. It’s not necessarily a deal-breaker, but it’s worth knowing ahead of time.
Another issue was that there were rules not listed on the website — particularly a strict one-car-per-site policy. We had two campsites with multiple guests, and only being allowed one car per site was a real hassle. It would’ve helped if this was made clearer before booking.
The staff were constantly patrolling, which we understand can be for safety, but it felt a bit overbearing. They frequently called people out for minor issues, which made it hard to fully relax.
Lastly, our campsite had a persistent sewage smell — strong enough to wake us up at night. This may have just been our section of the park, but it really impacted our stay.
This campground has potential, but clearer communication, a more welcoming environment, and better site maintenance would go a long way.
Pros: extremely clean public bathrooms, bins everywhere for easy access and a stunning lakeside view for that...
