Not the experience we were expecting or wanting.
Our first visit and also our last. Were hoping for a hidden gem and found coal.
Ordered the most expensive platter and told there was no brisket, offered us to sub in a snitzel which we declined and asked for steak instead. The waitress left and said she'd give us some time to think about it, and she never came back. We ended up having to go to find staff and was told that due to the cost variation they couldn't do steak but somehow, happy to sub in chicken that on menu was significantly less than brisket despite the steak being a closer cost equivalent - eventually and somehow they found brisket. Jokes on us, it came with snitzel and we had to send it back.
Waited over 1.5 hours for mains and watched others who ordered after us be served whilst we listened to children crying and people complain that their steaks weren't cooked how they asked.
Food was cold, dry, sad. Sub par and disappointing. A real shame. Even when we told honest feedback to the waitress that it was disappointing and explained why when asked, we were further ignored and no further words spoken to us for the remainder of the visit. When we went to pay, the manager who was aware of the issues did not even acknowledge or apologise, not a word was spoken.
Lots of leftovers and we left hungry - similar to a table on our left that labelled their meal a dog's breakfast, or the one infront that had been waiting 2 hours for their food.
What was meant to be a celebration meal turned into a funeral...the death of high expectations and a...
Read moreA nice restaurant in an unassuming building on the main road. We popped in for a light lunch in between appointments and we left with no room in our bellies. It was a very hot Saturday lunch and we were very happy to get a seat in front of the bar which was also conveniently in front of the air conditioner. The bar lady greeted us as soon as we walked in and was very friendly and bubbly; she also brought us our food and drinks too. She graciously accepted that I had to ask for my burger well done with nothing on it other than bacon (pregnant and allergies) and when it came out it was definitely well done and I am very grateful, it also came with a small basket of chips. At first I thought it was a bit small but I actually struggled to eat it all. My husband ordered the tapas pork loaded chips and while usually a big eater, managed to only eat about half of it. The pork was cut up very finely and he suggested in order for the flavour to be more noticeable, it might be better to have bigger pieces. My 5 year old enjoyed his chips and nuggets and his accompanying cordial and icecream. Husband had a frozen daiquiri which wasn't quite frozen but still was very welcome in the heat, and I had a lovely blue mocktail. Service was timely and our server was lovely. We really...
Read moreWe had a booking for 4 people and were seated quickly. It took 35 minutes just to receive our drinks (2 beers, a wine, and a mocktail), and we were told someone would return to take our order. After waiting for an hour from the time we arrived, no one had come by our table, though we noticed a large group of about 15 who arrived well after us had their order taken.
When staff finally came to our table, we asked how long food would take and were told “very, very long.” At that point we decided to just pay for the drinks and leave.
The woman at the counter was friendly and explained they were short-staffed, which I completely understand having worked in the industry myself. However, it would have been appreciated if we were told upfront that service would be delayed by hours, so we could make an informed choice.
On the positive side, the staff were polite throughout, and the mocktail...
