Okay, I know that Covid has hit the tourism industry hard, so I'm cutting these guys some slack. ||||I booked and paid for a deluxe room on their website about a month before travelling. The day we were were due to arrive, I called ahead and left a voice message saying we may be a little late arriving and asked for late check in. A few hours later I called again as I hadn't heard from them. This time I got through and sorted it out. ||||When we arrived I was asked how I booked as they didn't have a record of the booking. I said it was through their website. "ahh", the guy said "Yeah, we really haven't worked out how to use that yet". Eventually he found something to say I'd paid, but no record of when I was arriving or for how long. Once that was sorted he said the restaurant wasn't open as they hadn't had a chef since covid. ||||Once we got to the room it was nice and clean. The bathroom was interesting. It had a huge spa bath with a shower over it, but to get in you have to climb over an 800mm ledge (Yes, I measured it). This was okay for me, but my very short wife struggled. To make matters worse, only one of the shower doors would open as the other caught on the oyster light and would only open a few cms. ||||during the first night we were woken several times by the cries of a cat in the hallway. We didn't hear it the second night, but we did see it the second morning when it wandered out of an open room across the hall then proceeded to follow us a block and a half when we walked down the street for breakfast. I'm sure it would have followed us all they way had it not been scared off by a dog. ||||When I went to check out the office was open and I rang the desk bell several times, but no one arrived, so I left the key on the desk. ||||Would I stay there again? Yes, I...
Read moreCapella Coach Inn was the perfect stay for our large family group – 15 rooms – for our son’s wedding on his wife’s family’s farm. Our group stayed for up to four nights and everyone was very happy with their rooms. A huge thankyou to Kim, and also Chelsea, for your patience over the phone, over many months, and finally in person to organise the most suitable rooms to meet our guests’ different needs. For those with some mobility issues, Kym ensured they had walk-in showers and ground floor rooms while other guests enjoyed the very large baths. The spacious rooms were very clean. Our large group also enjoyed the free continental breakfasts in the communal dining room and the chance to catch up in an air-conditioned space during the very warm days. And it was a short stroll to the...
Read moreMy first problem is that the name on the front of the facility is not the same as the motel I booked which meant I went around the town twice before venturing in and asking if I was in the right place, which is strange! On the whole, this is a basic motel which is comfortable and well located for passing traffic. The biggest detraction from giving this motel a higher score is the lack heating facilities. No microwave or any type of cooking facilities means the ready meal I brought could not be consumed. The other negative is that the manager appears overworked and preoccupied with "doing service", whatever that means. All in all the stay was comfortable but I...
