Very lovely and hospitable country pub/ hotel, they offer a parking spot for self contained campers at the rear of the property on a stretch of grass (easy to drive round the back) and only ask that you sample their tasty menu or vibrant selection of cold beers 🍻 as a small token for using the space.
The area was very quiet to sleep in and we were made to feel very welcome. The locals in the pub were also a lovely bunch to chat to. Spoke to the owner Kerrie in the morning, she was very considerate when arriving as to not wake us which was sweet, she reminded us we were welcome if we were on the way past again. She mentioned there were plans to add a barbecue at the rear of the property to add to the convenience of the stay. She also mentioned that there were showers / toilets for use for a small fee of $5 to cover the water bill. If you’re doing the east coast road trip you need to make this a stop on your way, much nicer than a rest area on the side of a highway, especially after a long drive.
Thanks again for the stay, much appreciated.

Read moreExpected a basic, out of date decor room for a night on the road while travelling from Cooktown to Queanbeyan, NSW. Was pleasantly surprised by the modern decor & cleanliness of the rooms with an oversized carport/covering the front of the rooms - providing cover from both sun & rain. Friendly & helpful reception who have gone the extra mile to provide a haven for travellers off the noisy Bruce Hwy. Wchose the option of tea at the pub - a 10mile walk over the railway line (we had to wait for 2 freight trains) but I would opt for the in- house meals at the motel next time. Pub staff were friendly but a happy & very noisy, large family group & an extremely over- heated dining room added to the less than edible meal of crumbed lamb one of us had. I would highly recommend the Camila Motel for a restful night while traveling along...
Read more5 Stars all the way! We were greeted with lovely owners who made us feel at home, even though they had a funeral and other things that were on their mind. It had been raining heaps before we arrived, so the free camping out the back was not really in good shape for us. But, rather than turn us away, we were offered to stay over the road and next to the railway line. No problem. Anything for free is good for us since we have blown our budget at staying at caravan parks due to all the rain. We highly recommend staying here if travelling between Rocky and Mackay. I cannot recommend the food highly enough. Hubby and I shared the local fish and it was so juicy! Loved our night with the locals! Do yourself a favour and stay 1 night at...
