I have stayed at Bruce's for the last 8 years, every time I come to Mallacoota. It was the first placed I stayed. I have always left the money on the bench, when I have left, or when the old bloke was around I used to walk around have a chat about the fishing, listen to his stories and pay. I have just been informed that I cannot stay there any longer due to the fact it was hard to get hold of me last time to collect money. I am a keen fisherman get up at 5 and return as late as weather will permit. I didn't know this was a issue. The new caretakers just came one evening and I paid them. You can never get phone reception up parts of the lake thats the entire reason I come to Coota. To be honest I'm happy if my phone dies and I don't have to here it ring the entire time I'm fishing. Its also has never been a issue the last 10 plus times Ive stayed there. I also was told my dog made a blanket dirty to the point they had throw it away. I didn't realise this was the case and if someone had called me I would of paid for it. I even offered to pay for the blanket, as I didn't realise. It is a pet friendly unit. Thats the whole point. I offered numerous times to pay for it. I am extremely offended by this, I always pay my bills and my way. I will be telling every one I know that goes to Coota to go somewhere else. I have been recommending this place to people for 8 years. All my friends that come to Coota go here. Not...
Read more5 Stars for this one! Hey… We had a great time at Mallacoota last weekend attending the inaugural Mallacoota Music Jammalong, for some great music AND delightful Mallacoota friendliness. We stayed at Bruce’s waterside Flats (not for the first time) which is always special. Flat 1 was very cozy and comfortable accommodation for our group. The rooms were clean, warm and quite spacious enough for our group of 4 and the little yard was perfect for our little dog. The flats are just a shout away for that wonderful Café 51, The Mallacoota Hotel Family Bistro and the fantastic Lucy’s Noodle House. What more could you want for a...
Read moreMy husband and I are musicians so we were there for the Croajamalong Gathering and Gospel session in August 2018. The large deck on our unit overlooking the lake was the best place to jam with our friends. The unit provided just what we needed and having a washing machine there as we have been on the road was bliss. The pet friendly environment meant folk who came to the jam session could bring their pets along and that is very special. Five stars for me with my needs - it was walking distance to all the activities I...
