I was sceptical at attempting camping, until a recent experience at lake glenbawn which changed my perspective. Living in a tent, cooking on a portable gas stove, mash mellow over the camp fire, no mobile phone for a few days outside your normal life can be just as exciting.
Picking the the right location for camping is important and what’s right for you and your family. Lake glenbawn is an unpowered site but provides you the opportunity to pick your own camping grounds. Where as a powered site is a dedicated spot and you could be surrounded by lots of campers. Lake glenbawn provides sweeping views of the beautiful lake on a nice sunny blue sky day, while on a rainy cloudy day there’s not much to be seen or do at the camping area.
Amenities are decent with toilet and shower facilities at certain locations within the camping area. They also have a small kiosk to purchase coffee, cold drinks, some snacks, hats and fishing gear. There is also a playground area for the kids if water isn’t their thing.
How to keep yourself entertained: water activity - inflatable boat, engine driven boats, kayak, stand-up paddle board, fishing or swimming. Drive out of the camping ground and explore nearby places Go with a group of people Take plenty of food and drinks Turn...
Read moreHey I'm Shane,

Nature at your door and at your tips at the lake bed. We saw kangaroos around the camping grounds and I loved it, we all did. Great fishing spots around the bends of the vast looking lake. If swimming in the waters and pushing in the kayak to jet ski's and boats, there's more.. BBQ and seating areas provided, parking spaces beside your cabins providing a laundry area with living rooms varying in numbers. In case your wanting to have something to eat or to drink there's a shop on terrace to supply different goods, including hot food choices and fishing equipment. Family and friends friendly, we've made a few friends during the...
