We stayed here for just one night. I had planned on proposing to my girlfriend on-top of Mount Abrupt and wanted to book somewhere special to stay the night. On looking online the idea of the fireplace appealed to me and I booked it.||After our walk up Mount Abrupt we headed for our accommodation which was easy to locate down a quiet bush road not far from town. ||On arrival we were greeted at our car (perfect timing) which was fantastic as my legs were like jello after completing that walk up Mount Abrupt. ||We pulled up at our villa which was surrounded by kangaroos and their Joey's which was fantastic to see.||We opened up the doors and wow, it was even better than what it looked like in the photos.||It has a rustic but also homely feeling with a splash of high end feel and definitely romantic.||We talked to a friendly fella that was tidying and maintaining the grounds who gave me a few good hints on lighting the fire like a macho man and a few good walks.||We unpacked and had a couples shower with the double shower in the villa. ||We then made a coffee with the provided coffee machine and milk frother, which was a bit more fancy than the instant coffee we have at home.||In our villa we had a double shower with his and her sinks, coffee pod machine, selection of jams/spreads with bakery bread, selection of cereals, washer and dryer, dishwasher, spa tub which fits 2, queen bed, big tv and DVD player, DVD movies, outdoor area, fireplace with wood and a free bottle of sparkling white which was fantastic.||There were wine glasses ready by the spa bath which we made full use of. ||The only thing which would of been great is labels for the light switches as there's heaps of them but that's no big deal.||We will definitely be returning to here from now on and make this our go-to stay away from home.||Highly recommended...
Read moreMarwood vills are in a great location,mt zero road. Plenty of wildlife in the surrounding gardens ,and just a brief 10 minute walk into town. Welcoming bottle of sparkling wine ,and packets of cereal, loaf of bread included for breakfast.|The thing is though ,there are many places in halls gap with a lot of the same features. Whilst booked as luxury accomodation the villas are quite run down ,and need a paint and good clean.|The bed is comfortable, the couch and cushions not. There are insects in the fly screens and spider webs. A small water feature runs through the villa when it rains, and this is a nice feature, but it smells a bit when it has not flowed for a while and starts up,and if you were a light sleeper this might bother you. The outside furniture , if its plastic its dirty. If its metal ,its rusty.|Accessing the internet is through a third party filter ,that asks for your personal details.|A search of past reviews wil show some common concerns.|The pics on display are old, i have included some new ones. There is nothing much exceps a bit of an update and clean ,that is need to increase this...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed in one of the Marwood Villas for 2 nights in July and I can honestly say that it was the most beautiful weekend we have spent together. The villas are spectacular. The bed was extremely comfortable. The spa was lovely. The bathroom is large and looks out onto the beautiful trees at the back of the villas. The breakfast basket was perfect and the surroundings are so tranquil. I brought my pushbike, which was great as Marwood is only a quick ride/walk to the Halls Gap shops, where we purchased ingredients to make our own meals, rather than eat out - the kitchen has absolutely everything you need. My partner has a terminal illness and did not have much energy to go out, so we spent most of our time in the villa. My partner commented to me that it was the best medicine he could have imagined. Max & Barb (owners) are so lovely and extremely professional and Cam & Deb (the property caretakers) were so wonderful. They really made our stay simply perfect. Thank you to everyone at Marwood. You are all fabulous and made our...
