Our 2nd stop on our down south trip saw as at Discovery Parks Margaret River for 2 nights.

πŸ“ Location & Check-in πŸš— Distance: 2hr 40min South of Perth CBD πŸ“š Check-in: Was very easy at the reception desk, given a park map and off me went. (Fully paid at time of booking) πŸ• In: 2pm for sites & cabins ⏰️ Out: 10am for both

πŸ• Amenities Check πŸ› Toilets & Showers: Located in the middle of the park, always clean, not moden but very spacious, 4 toilets and showers and also a baby sink in the women's block. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. Water pressure and temperature wasn't great. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Family Room: Yes a very large Family/Disable room with a change table. No bench space. 🍳 Camp Kitchen: Is a huge undercover open area with lots of seating. Has everything you need with a large communal firepit. πŸͺKids Fun Factor: older kids play ground (not suited to toddlers), jumping pillow, large grass area, free animal feeding at 3pm.

🍩 Coffee & Nearby CafΓ©s β˜•οΈ Onsite Coffee Van: Nope, caravan coffee only. 🧁 Closest Cafe/Food Spot: The office had a simple rage of dry goods, milk, drinks and ice cream. 🏭 Cowaramup Township (5 minute drive) amazing lollie shop, brewery, cafes, and small boutique shops and lots of statute cows (the kids loved) must visit such a beautiful town. πŸ™Margaret River is another 10 minutes south and has Coles and Woolworths for supplies.

🏠 Accommodation ⛺️ Cabins, Powered and Non-Powered sites available πŸ’²We paid $107 for 2 nights on a powered site for: 2 Adults + 1 Child (3-16) + 1 Infant (free)

🐾 Pet-Friendly 🐢 Dogs Allowed: On leash at all times.

πŸ—£ Heads Up! 🚐 Site: We loved the size of the site. πŸ”₯ Fires: Permitted in season. At your site with your own firepit or at the communal pit at the camp kitchen 🚿 Showers: Water pressure sucked and the temperature fluctuated the whole time. πŸ‘© Staff: Were friendly and always checked in if they walked past. Lady at the desk ask if I would like information or recommendations on activities, where to eat or what to do in the area. (first time since we started traveling I had been asked)

🚐 Would We Bring Reggie Back? Absolutely / Yes / Maybe / No βœ… Yes! It's a beautiful spot, central to lots of things, Margaret River only be 10 minutes away, surrounded by breweries and wineries and so many things to see and do! We would stay longer next time!

Our recent stay at Taunton Farm Holiday Park provided a mixed bag of experiences worth noting.

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who unfortunately couldn’t accommodate our request to swap our uneven tent site for a flatter ground due to full booking. This left us grappling with a tent site littered with tree roots, making it uncomfortable to navigate and raising concerns about potential damage to our gear.

Despite this setback, the inclusion of ensuite facilities was a welcome convenience, albeit with occasional wait times due to limited units. An expansion of these facilities could greatly enhance the overall guest experience.

On the downside, the outdated kitchen facilities left much to be desired, indicating the need for significant upgrades to align with contemporary standards.

However, the campground’s proximity to Margaret River’s tourist attractions was a definite plus, offering easy access to local sights and activities.

In conclusion, while Taunton Farm Holiday Park has its merits, including friendly staff and convenient amenities, the uneven tent sites and outdated kitchen facilities detracted from an otherwise enjoyable stay. We hope that improvements will be made to address these concerns and elevate the guest experience...

3 night, pre booked stay, 2 adults, WA school holidays last weekend. October 4-6th. Park is situated just north of Cowaramup on the highway, with a dedicated turn lane. We took issue however as the signage had not been updated to reflect Discovery Park and instead read Taunton Family/Big 4 leaving us to think we had the wrong park and went in into town to call and check. It would have been helpful to have advised us by email /call or text of this when we booked. We raised this at reception when we checked in and was told signage was delayed, this was the same response when I emailed head office to advise that the issue had caused us a near accident when trying to re-enter the highway after we thought it was the wrong place. The park itself is rustic, borders in part onto a dam with terrific birdlife and is geared towards families with a big play area, daily animal feeding and lots of green space. Big camp kitchen and well appointed although dated amenities are well kept. We had a large site which was facing the dam but all others were generous sizing and plenty of aspects to choose from. Daily duck family visits were lovely and although the park was busy it was a...

We camped 4 nights at BIG4 Taunton Farm Margaret River…off the highway; great staff; super family friendly; peak times such as January, is at full capacity; farm animals; an occasion camel ride; kids have the joy of a large jumping pillow; facilities ok; not a lot of protection from the wind with AM and PM regular 40km wind gusts coming through (great for drying your hair in super duper quick time); drive to all locations you want to visit; camping enjoyable but you will be on top of your neighbours so if you want a national park experience with some space and nature beyond a few trees this is not the place for you, for us it was perfect as we just wanted to get out and explore WA. This is your perfect base camp if you plan to be out and about.
