As a group of 3 fisherman, all aged over 65, we stayed at the Cabins. The cabins were clean, the double bed area was large enough. The second bed area was a bit small with 4 bunks. In fact 1 of our crew elected to move the mattress from the bunk and sleep in the lounge area. The lounge, kitchen and bath area a a comfortable size. Remember to take you own linen, towels, bath floor mat and pillow. There are outdoor table and chairs under a carport type of construction. The beach is about a 10 minute walk if you exit via gate near cabin 4. Moonta Bay jetty is a 3 klm drive and Port Hughes jetty a 2 klm drive. The main street and shopping area of Moonta town is 3 klm from the cabins.||The BBQ areas are a bit small and the free electric hot plates a bit slow. It is disappointing there are no tables or chairs in the BBQ areas. The Fish cleaning area is small and without lighting. 1 or 2 people cleaning fish is ok,but not enough for 3 or more people.||My fellow fisherman spoke with the new owners on site. They have plans to renovate and improve the fish cleaning area and upgrade some of the facilities. We observed maintenance and improvements in progress.||We enjoyed our stay, it represented value for money in a convenient location. We will revisit. We caught Fish and squid from the Moonta Bay Jetty. We loved the Cornish Kitchen Bakery for morning tea and loved the Royal Hotel 2 Ryan Street Moonta and totally recommend the food and service. In addition to the fishing there is lots to visit and see in and around the area. TRY THE CABINS YOU WILL...
Read moreI can only speak to the experience that I had in the cabin that I stayed in. the park its self was awesome, cabin 4 was not so good the walls where filthy, paint was flaking of the window seal in the bathroom the shower dripped no stop, i spoke to that site's manager he was awesome talked to the handy man right away, how ever the handy man just turned the tap off so tight that i struggled to turn it back on so i could shower. Now im not a little guy, if it was any tighter it would have broken the spindle in the tap. there was a gouge in the wall where a door or something had hit it quite a few time's that has not been fixed. Last 2 things that i did not find to be good was the electrical tag and test was last done in 2013, this is by law a yearly requirement i only looked at the tag as when my partner went to plug in the bed lamp on the bathroom side of the bed we found bear wires, after that i checked all the electrical appliances and they were all out of tag and test compliance. And last but not least i cut myself on the broken and chipped toaster. Hopefully my detailed review will help the park to sort these issues out and make the cabin an awesome place to stay for your next visit to Moonta Bay. P.s Cafe Capella is a must try in the main...
Read moreWell... where do you even start!! I actually didn't stay here.. my friends did and it was shocking from the get go.. first off the bed was absolutely rock hard that they had to go and buy an air mattress to sleep on!! For the price of the accommodation you would think they could update their mattresses. They were there for 6 nights in total and had NO HOT WATER and still don't, they had to shower in another cabin!!! The cabin smelt of gas and the oven stopped working while cooking 3 hungry kids their dinner!! Which had to end up in the bin!! They were told to go buy themselves some dinner and would be reimbursed.. they never were.. They were later moved to a new cabin which was no better!! While we were visiting our friends we walked around to the play area and the owners were there.. no hello NOTHING!! not even an aknowlegement that we were there!! While we were sitting out the cabin we see a car do a massive burnout as they were leaving the premises.. it's was the OWNER!! No worries mate.. never mind the fact that there are...
