$80 per night which is insane - especially for an unfinished "resort"! The restaurant/cafe isn't in use but the website states otherwise. Our second night tonight and my husband drove to the laundry in the rain, thunder/lighting to put a load in the dryer and was approached by a rude lady who works here and was told not to drive on the grass, to which he replied "oh, sorry! I couldn't see the grass as it was under a pool of water (from the rain storm)." She didn't stop there and began raising her voice exclaiming that others have been charged/thrown out of the park for ruining the grass and that it's "common sense". He then asked her to stop talking down to him and left. Extremely disappointing. He and I both understand that you shouldn't drive on grass - especially in the rain 🤦🏽‍♀️ but the way that she approached the situation was unreasonable and has completely ruined our stay. Obviously we will not be back and I'll be posting this review on WikiCamps. I think we were spoilt at Malanda Falls Caravan Park 😅

After reading their responses to the reviews that aren't 5* and their excuses and non-existent apologies, they...

Having read the reviews on this location I was very much looking forward to a quiet and relaxing stay at the Echo resort however, no-one had obviously stayed in Cabin 48. Situated some 12 meters from the Bruce highway that's has trucks rolling through 24/7. No ear plugs provided. No milk or drinking water supplied. The cabin was like a shipping container although nicely decked out with a kitchen bench top, the mattress was lumpy and very uncomfortable. The pillows like the bed had seen better days and were very yellow beyond the old pillow cover. I bought a pillow locally to help at least try to get some sleep. The ensuite was a couple of meters away over uneven ground. The staff were totally non interested and referred me to their terms & conditions regarding any discount on not staying the full term booked for. The noise of the highway flows right across the site so if you're going to stay, take good ear plugs. And my advice is to avoid Cabin 48.

I won't...

Powered site with our caravan. Seasoned Aussie travellers and we absolutely loved this Park. What suited us… Smaller boutique like park, 15 minutes Sth of Townsville, reception staff welcoming, friendly and patient - bonus 😊 amenities were immaculate, updated with quality toilets, fittings, tiling etc. spacious grass sites, plus concrete slabs if wanted, gorgeous heated pool and spa, Heaps of bird life. whilst the restaurant was only open Thurs-Sun didn’t inhibit our stay, we had happy hour on the outside decking overlooking the pond with water feature it was fab. The 2 international young ladies taking food orders and attending the bar were spot on, courteous, interesting, professional, friendly, Cheery, No waiting at the bar, they delivered your drink to your table promptly. Wow. Glam tents looked fantastic, landscaping also. If you’re looking for an overcrowded, sub standard noisy park then it’s not for you. Your...

It's a nice camp ground, well kept all around with truly friendly staff. There are a lot of permanents there and the park generally caters for the more mature audience. Although I have children, I liked the fact that the pool is for adults only. We were told that at check in - and that is perfectly ok. The common area is nice and, due to the large number of permanents, hardly used. Wifi is available but only covers the area near the office. Phone signal (Optus) was non existing, Vodafone supposedly works, Telstra no idea. On the downside, the park is very close to a major road and the associated noise. There is also some sort of small plant next door that does add to the noise now and then. Overall it was a nice few days.

Stayed in the glamping tents and I was very pleased with what I saw. Very clean and well thought out accomodation. I particular liked that the power points also have USB ports, not a big thing but very usefull. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was just fantastic. I had dinner at the Black Barra onsite and tried something new with the Crocodile Popcorn and Emu Steak. Both was delicious. Sitting by the water with the fountain going and live music made it a really nice night. I jave heard that the sunsets can be amazing.
