We haven’t been to Beechworth before and absolutely fell in love with the town and this amazing caravan park. It’s not just that it is clean, friendly, helpful, has beautiful grounds with lots of shade and activities and then of course there is the lake and the beautiful little fresh water creek which was perfect for sitting in on those hot days, but it’s the small tings too, music in the toilet (maybe that’s just me!), a proper cover for the dump point, household tips on the back of the toilet door 😂 , the afternoon visit from an employee/owner at the end of the day, just to make sure all is well and he visited everyone on his quad.
it’s the guidance you get by someone when you park your van, a gentle voice, guiding you as you reverse into your spot.
As we extended our stay we couldn’t get a spot down by the lake, but we ended up the back in a fabulous spot, which we preferred to the lake, by Roger (?) he suggested it for us as it was quiet in the park
It was up on a hill, we had the place to ourselves, and Roger hooked our van up on the tractor from the lake site and popped it in place on the hill, too easy for us.
Thank you, thank you Sue and Roger (?) I hope that’s right, you were so helpful and generous, with our second site, it made our day, well three days actually We will def be back Derry and...
Read moreOur family had 3 nights here in an unpowered campsite (site N).
Pros Nice spacious shady unpowered sites. Backs onto the creek, which is great for the kids to play in. Lots of free activities for the kids (playground, mini golf, badminton etc). Short walk to the lake and local park where the kids can swim out and jump of the pontoon. Murray to mountains trail is right outside the campground so is easy to pick up on. If you have kids, I would recommend biking Beechworth to Everton as it’s mostly all downhill. Clean amenities with plenty of toilets and showers. Regular cleaning is performed during the day. Two outdoor dishwashing sinks. Coffee van on site some days.
Cons Kids walking through your campsite to access the river - campsite next to ours (O) is their main access point, so I would avoid this site if this would be an issue for you. Van sites are staggered and fairly close together, so unless you have a shade for the back of your awning, you are looking right into your neighbours awning without privacy.
We enjoyed our stay and would...
Read moreWe stayed in a pet friendly cabin for a few days and loved the caravan park. It's a beautiful location, right on Lake Sambell, and there's close access to bike riding/walking trails. The cabin was small but clean and had most of what we needed. We missed having comfy chairs to sit on, or a small couch, but being such a small cabin there's no room for a couch anyway. It's a good base for staying the night but not much creature comfort if you spend much time in the cabin. That was fine for us as we were out and about every day. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly and the booking process was easy from start to finish. The caravan park is very clean and tidy but the caravan/camping sites are on the small side and we wouldn't camp here unless we booked two sites side by side. The cabin is the better option for us as we don't like to be snuggled up to our neighbours when camping. All in all it's a lovely spot and we'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting a cute little pet friendly cabin...
