Buffalo Motel and Country Retreat — Hotel in Porepunkah

This is one of the best country motels I have stayed in for quite a while.||The host is warmly welcoming, the rooms quite comfortable and the other facilities made my stay very relaxed.||The place seems to have been undergoing a bit of renovation recently; the bathroom was newly renovated, for example. The interior and exterior looked like they had been painted fairly recently, too. One nice touch was the Nespresso machine. A bit better than the usual type of instant coffee you get in most motels!||The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioner was not too loud.||The sound insulation of the room isn't completely perfect, since there was some noise from outside of the room (other guests talking, but they weren't too bad). Despite this, it was good enough for the small amount of overnight traffic noise to be no problem.||Apart from the motel rooms, there is a building at the rear of the place that has a large deck overlooking the grassed area that stretches down to the river. The deck has tables and chairs and a barbecue for guests to use (I didn't use it, but some other guests did, so I assume it works OK). There also are a few chairs and some beanbag style lounges for guests to lie in and chill out on the grassed area around the deck. Spending time in this 'backyard' really made the trip. I think there is also a guest lounge in the building, but I didn't go in to find out. I did take a walk down to and along the river, though. What a Great place . Nice little secret hide away . We came 10 years ago for my brothers wedding and just returned again with a few big time celebrities for the 2nd time for his reunion.staff are the absolute best . Accomodation is above and beyond . I literally had one of my best night sleeps ever .. One of the nicest places on this planet .Beautiful offstreet Retreat with luscious green acreage to let the kids run wild and enjoy the real things in life away from those devices.spectacular views from the little river running past the property to the Matterhorn view from Mt Buffalo.we visited all the local attractions which are only a stones throw away and had plenty of time to comfortably take it all in . Really liked the location and view. There was campfire facility as well, which was fantastic. Outdoor seating area was quite good. There were board games in the common area. The toilets and shower were clean. ||||There is no microwave in the room. We were aware of that, but we were told that there is microwave in common area. But we were not aware that common area closes after dinner and opens at 9:30 AM next day. This made it very difficult if we needed to heat milk, make cereal or anything basic. The kettle in the room was plastic and was fully stained. So, we could not use it to make tea. Hardly saw the staff, probably because it was a long weekend.
