We stayed 3 nights in one of their least expensive/older cabins. The description on the website was accurate and the photos representative of what we found. Ours had a ramp instead of steps at the front, which was a nice surprise for my elderly father. I noticed most of the others around us had steps so it's worth enquiring about this if you have mobility issues. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed including linen, bedding and towels. The kitchen had utensils, pots, pans, cups, glasses, etc. All you need to pack when staying in one of their cabins is food and clothing. The cabin had two separate bedrooms and a combined kitchen/lounge/dining. There were 4 large comfy leather recliners and two televisions. The fridge/freezer was full size, not a bar fridge. There was a/c but we didn't need to use this although it looked brand new. We didn't spend much time at the park, other than for dinner and to sleep. We did use their fish cleaning facilities which were very good and included a lot of chopping boards. The pool and surrounding area looked very nice. The staff in the office were very friendly and there always seemed to be a lot of park staff moving around the place keeping busy with cleaning and maintenance tasks. If you need to call the park I noticed they don't tend to answer but if you leave a message they are very responsive in getting back to you. This was my first ever trip to Port Hughes and the only annoying thing is it took me this long to visit. Will definitely be back. Great fishing from the local jetty which is a short drive from the park. We came back home with a freezer full of squid, garfish and tommies. Very nice looking sandy beach.

I think it’s an amazing place to be you will have great experiences and entertainment here. My review does not include Beach front cabins and campsites but they look pretty good. I stayed in a cabin because I bought my boat and the Cabin are good quality they had 4 rooms a kitchen/ living, bathroom, and 2 bedrooms. I found that there was enough room for me and my kids. The caravan park has got a pool, a mini golf Course, a play ground, a dog area, a fish cleaning area, gas Swap, toilet block, 2 kitchens one newer then the other, showers, laundry, fire pit , a caravan dump, a sand volleyball net and a New BMX track what is not on the Current map yet. Choice of cabins: Holiday Unit (basic) Exclusive cabin ( middle range what I stayed in) Family Villa (luxury) Choice of camping and RV sites: Annual site (when you book a spot for your RV for a long time your RV stays there even when you’re not. Ensuite powered site ( has a shower toilet and hand basin) Power site And unpowered oval for campers only. I have been here for 2 day now and have like it a lot every things clean. It’s dog friendly to meaning you can bring your dog but you have to keep them on lead unless in fenced park area, there are also cabins that allow dogs. There’s a board walk to walk to the beach from the caravan park what good too. The boat ramp is great me and my kids go out every day. Over all you should go here if you want to go fishing cause this time of year (middle of summer) you can catch crabs, squid and whiting or if you just want to come here for fun or to camping it’s a great place. I personally recommend this park, And I hope you enjoy it if you come here.

We stayed here for a few nights for the start of school holidays having a powered site in the village area. The park is very good with good facilities and friendly staff. The only probably downside is that sites aren't grassed but they do have mats to put tents on at each site along with rakes to remove any sticks and what not. The camp kitchen facility is really good and looks like it's quite new! The pool looks amazing, but as it was the middle of winter, we didn't use it. It is solar heated, but not much sun to warm the water in Winter :) It isn't shaded at the time of writing this review either. Lots of showers nearby for getting changed after swimming is a good touch! The playground was a big hit with the kids. Lots of use with the bouncy pillow, playground and pump track. There is also a mini-golf course there too! A short walk to the beach makes watching the amazing sunsets over the water easy. I do highly recommend this park and we would definitely stay here again.

The one star is warranted purely due to the view.

My inlaws booked a foreshore cabin overlooking the beach the other weekend. They called to request one of the end cabins as it was the 4th time we had booked at the park and preferred the end cabins. 4 or 5 times it was confirmed both directly from the park and via booking.com that an end cabin was booked.

Upon arrival we were told we did not have an end cabin and an end cabin was not available as other guests had been prioritised.

After checking in and arriving at the cabin we found that every small gust of wind the front veranda roof would squeak... which we fixed by climbing up and pushing on the sheets to move them stopping the noise.

After proceeding inside we found the door to the bunk bed room did not stay closed and the latch was 1cm from the striker.. it appeared this door had not closed im quite some time.

The cabin was far from clean however not disgusting... dirt and grime on the benches and the tops of the tiles.

We then observed the fly screen to the bunk room was ripped half open, therefore we were unable to leave this open without bugs and mosquito's coming in.

The glass oven baking dishes in the cupboard were filthy with brown food splatter staining on the edges and the plastic cups smelled disgusiting.

Every time you flushed the toilet the entire cabin would vibrate when it re filled sounding like a fog horn.

At night every time there was even a mild gust of wind there was a banging on the roof sounding like the sheets were flapping and lifting in the wind.

Neither myself, my father in law or my 4 year old daughter who was on the top bunk got any sleep at all for the first night.

In the morning I attended the office to speak to a blonde lady, when I mentioned the lady smirked like it was not the first time she had heard this and agreed to send a maintenance employee around later and if we were not there they would check the roof but not the toilet, which I agreed was fine however her attitude was poor and she was quite rude the whole time.

We went out for the day and when we returned after no contact from the park we noticed the roof to still be banging. I called the park after hours number and was told it was a design issue and the only way to fix it was to re roof all of the cabins as they all did the same thing.

Again the explanation was quite rude and at no stage was any apology offered.

To top it off the next morning the toaster stopped working and the lever had to be held down in a certain spot to get it to work.

Safe to say our $750 cost of accommodation on our holiday was money not well spent.. and to be honest there will be...

Rented out beachfront cabins 2 years in a row. Beds are pretty average pillows are atrocious unless you like sleeping on a piece of paper. Last year we got there early so thought we would just try our luck and see if the rooms were ready early, were told they absolutely, definitely were not ready as check in is 2pm. A simple no sorry, would have been sufficient.

Next day asked for additional coffee sachets and were told they were complimentary and management had told them that's all guests get.... I'm sorry but for over $800 for 2 cabins for 2 nights, I'm pretty sure you can spare some bloody coffee sachets.

This year, we had one dog friendly cabin, was told that the other cabin had never ever ever had a dog in it and if there was any evidence of a dog an additional cleaning fee would be charged. What's with the drama!?

Also, if you rely on internet for anything and are not staying in the main park area, organise something else because the WiFi is non existent. My phone couldn't even pick up the park WiFi let alone the tv.

Then we left something behind, I called back on the Monday left a message, no return call. Called today, had to ring 7 times for someone to answer as it goes to message bank after 45 seconds.... got through, got told I didn't leave a message because she had checked them all, wanted $14 postage to send item back. Then when I began providing some 'feedback' about the reception staff, I kept getting cut off and told they were extremely busy.... I'm a sole business owner, I'm busy too!! I love the Yorke Peninsula especially South Beach, but after the atrocious service we've continually received even after spending just shy of $2000 for 4 nights over the 2 years we will be looking elsewhere. Worst customer service in a long time and that's saying...

Quite dissatisfied from checking in to an early departure. Gave us the wrong entrance details, didn't advise were to go thoroughly and we got told of for trying to use the wrong boom gate.. reception was quite rude !! Be careful going in the summer if you stay on the foreshore bottom park. You need to drive to the kids activities and pool in completley separate location which is not indicated at any point!! Oceanview cabins on the foreshore!! The floors were filthy, my feet were black in literally 2 mins...no cupboard space for food if staying more than one night. Had to move everything to make some room. No fans to circulate air in the bedrooms. Air cond filter was totally blocked with gunk.. disgusting! Main bed was as hard as cement, as were the half size single beds. Lounge was filthy, crumbs, chips, dead flies and bugs ect between the cushions, and they stunk. Wiped one over with a wet wipe and it was black straight away with grime and dirt.. and not comfortable at all. Don't put to much weight on the dining table, it was almost collapsing. Steel chairs were awful to sit on and rusty. Only one tiny wardrobe for a cabin that sleeps 5.. one soap, one toilet roll !! The shower was good though! So for $240 a night we couldn't sleep, no were comfy to sit, no air circulation, clothes had to be left in suitcases, food left in bags and the hygiene, I have no words!! We left after one night of 3 we booked as we were so tired and our backs were in so much pain from them cement blocks they call beds and the filthiness made us feel ill. Will be reporting this to the higher authorities at Big 4 as I am very aware of the standards that Big 4 have to meet and none of them were met, not even close. Really really disappointing.. Won't be staying there ever again even if it...
