Me and my family have been coming to this holiday park for the past 10-12 years in a row. Every year same time we book the same cabins which is (7+) and come with the same people every year. This year same as the others we were super excited to finally have a nice relaxing break and enjoy our time here as we usually do. But unfortunately this years experience was one of the worst we had experienced in the history of holiday parks. Now I’m not sure if it’s because it’s under new management or if it’s different staff (which has never been an issue in the past) but it was horrific. From the moment we had arrived we had been treated poorly. Our first problem was the cleanliness of the cabin. For the amount of time they take and for the late check in you would expect it to be decent but it had a really bad smell and the bed sheets didn’t seem washed. The tv was not working at ALL, phones had no reception and the wifi was basically non existent. Now the cafe, every year we would go and grab some mock tails from the bar and some amazing delicious food from the cafe. This year they had completely gotten rid of basically everything that they had before and replaced it with horrible tasting foods priced wayyyyy too high for what it was worth. As for the bar, there were 4 workers who would alternate throughout the week, the man working at the bar was lovely every year we would order the same drinks (mock tails) and he provided them happily to us everytime as we were PAYING customers. However when the two ladies were working they would tell us that they’ve “never sold” those drinks and “would never” and it’s “impossible to make because the blender is broken?” None of the drinks we ordered required a blender and we would know as we’ve been ordering the same ones for 10+ years. Aside from that bizarre statement, not only were they rude but they were racist and weren’t afraid to show it. Now the reception, 10 YEARS we have been coming here, never have we had a problem with our towels we bring our own beach towels as well as shower towels however if your swimming everyday and shower everyday you run out of towels. Now I don’t know how everybody else showers but we are clean people we don’t reuse the same towels we wash everything and then use it again, usually the park would provide each cabin with whatever they needed, when we had gone to ask for new towels we were instantly judged and asked how many people were staying in our cabin as if we’ve snuck people in? After explaining that our cabin held 4 people and we were only given 2 towels she continued to blame the linen company and say they were under staffed and they as workers had to give up their own towels for the guests? Okay. Now the pool, the weather wasn’t the best this time around so you’d assume the “heated pool” that they have advised would be….heated correct? It was not. It was ice cold and we had asked numerous times and they just brushed us off. But it’s fine. This post is for anyone who is considering going there from now on because this new management this new staff are exceptionally rude and racist and really don’t care about anything. So sad that after 10 years this...
Read moreWell where do I start? We are a large group who have been returning customers to murramarang for weekly stays for at least the past 10 years. Last year my cabin didn't have a remote for the TV in the second bedroom this year the whole thing was missing aswell as no remote for the TV in the lounge. The fact that we're paying over $500 per night you would expect premium service and quality, but this year was an absolute nightmare. Towels weren't provided, items were either broken or missing - staff were rude and dismissive, some complained about being under staffed other complained out loud about actaully doing their jobs (such as cleaning) and then we got told by some staff members who actually took the time to listen that the company who provides them with towels/sheets were not delivering on time and hence the issue with that, there restaurant was appealing we used to love dining there and the kids used to enjoy meals throughout the day BUT the majority of the old menu isn't available anymore and the pricing! Ridiculous! The villas and cabins alike are in DIRE need of a renovation, the beds are not comfortable AT ALL. Sleeping on the sofa bed was actually a LOT more comfortable not ideal BUT didn't really have any other choice and that's of the sofa bed wasn't broken (as were one of our friends villas which we were told was broken and ment to be replaced a year ago and obviously wasn't although they did provide a fold up bed after complaining). The decks all need to be repaired/repainted. The fact that the "resort" runs on bore water we had to purchase water elsewhere and yes there was a filling station but that was it- ONLY one station is available and was just not viable to come back and forth refilling bottles from our cabin. Also considering that we were staying in the ocean villa - and it rained for a few days/nights, you would think that they would have thought through the design of covering the deck with something other than a shade cloth! Everything gets wet and to top it off we weren't even able to sit outside, at least, replacing that we could enjoy the outdoors regardless of if it's raining or not. Also the pricing at the bar was ridiculous! All in all very disappointing and we will not be returning unless something changes which is a shame - and you could tell business was bad because the resort wasn't as busy as it usually was. Other holidaying families were complaining literally about the same things albeit a few slight differences but it truly was shocking. The camping facilities such as the toilet blocks were apparently all blocked up and the smell was absolutely horrendous walking past. There is only 2 dryers available in comparison to the 6 washing machines again insignificant in comparison but still a nuisance considering we were told to wash their towels and sheets! We met Bec on leaving and wish we had met her on the first day, herself and Aiden from the restaurant were the only staff that seemed to care and listen to the issues within the resort. Let's hope this review is...
Read moreThe entire team at Murramarang made our wedding, reception and week a dream come true!
From the first phone call to plan our wedding (which was being held 2hrs from our home) Nicole was brilliant. I had previously started to become disheartened that our dream and vision for our small relaxed, beach garden wedding & reception was not to become a reality as I had been hitting roadblocks… until Nicole & Rebecca.
No request was too much, they went above and beyond to make it all happen. From the initial phonecall, planning emails and texts in the lead up, there was never a moment we didn’t feel totally confident that our vision was completely understood, protected and in good hands.
Nicole & Bec were as excited as us to bring it all to life, amid a terrible weather forecast with wind threatening to blow our ceremony away there was a need for ceremony to be moved from the beach to plan B garden area (which ended up being even more stunning than the beach would have been!) they seemingling effortlessly created a gorgeous space for our ceremony and reception for us and our guests to relax, chill out and celebrate. Becs calm and “no problem” attitude made it easy to relax and enjoy the lead up and day stress free.
I had received several texts from resort guests throughout the day when I was getting ready saying how amazing the areas were looking but nothing prepared me for walking into our gorgeous garden ceremony & then boho beach wonderland at Murrawood garden following our ceremony. Beautifully planned, styled and created chill out zones, lawn games/ play areas, various seating choices with gorgeous festoon lighting and woven chandeliers… and all meticulously set up, styled and packed down by Bec & the Murramarang team (and Jeana & co from style studio event hire).
Our guests/ party booked 11 villas & other various sites over the week/ weekend and the resort effortlessly catered to each guest family… from 1yr old to 69yo. The beautiful beach and bush setting, bush walks, kids club, the resort pool, cafe (amazing coffee!) restaurant (amazing food and seated 24 guests for an impromptu group dinner no problem) and bar… every guest has commented on how amazing the resort is, how wonderful the staff are and how beautiful their stay and wedding was… some commenting it was the most beautiful and relaxed wedding ever.
No request was too much, Nicole, Bec, Heath and all office, catering and grounds staff went above and beyond always with a beautiful smile and greeting and regularly asking how our stay and day was going.
The catering team made our reception so relaxed and our guests were spoiled with amazing food (the starters and pizzas were amazing!!) all served on time and 10/10 quality.
Words cannot express how grateful I am for all the staff at Murramarang and how cherished your contribution to our special day is… you made it so special for us all.
If you’re looking for a wedding/ event venue seriously, DO NOT go past Murramarang Resort...
