Prospect Hotel Motel — Hotel in Sydney

We stayed at Prospect Hotel-Motel - 3 Great Western Highway, Prospect, Sydney at the end of June, so we could visit our children and families living nearby.||Have to keep your wits about you on entering the property due to Sydney’s mad traffic.||The attached hotel had good dining facilities and it was convenient to buy a nice evening meal which we could take back to our room.||The motel was similar to most motels of its age.||When the air conditioner cycled on it blew cold out and then finally the warm came.||Most establishments where we may go generally short sheet the beds, and this was no exception. On rectifying the sheeting it was repeated the next day.||Above the bench where the TV was, a single fluorescent light would not light up.||The room was rather dimly lit by several other lights and this outage only made it worse.||Reported the non-working light early, but it was not repaired during our stay.||Couldn’t shut a rear window effectively as it had been damaged.||Had free wifi but you had to sign up. I had my own device!||Most rooms seem to back onto a dirt car park (mostly for semi's) with some bush beyond.||Traffic to Sydney (in the distance) can be heard from...

If I could leave a no star review I would. Arrived at 7pm, ordered 2 entrees and a salad at 7.30pm. At 8.45pm we asked a waitress to follow up on our meals, to which she returned saying they would be out shortly. At 8.55 I had to go to the kitchen to ask for our meals. The Restaurant manager assured me they would be out in 5 minutes and to be patient as meals were cooked in the order the orders are taken. I explained that the others on our table who ordered at the same time had already eaten their meals and the large table behind us who ordered well after us were already eating theirs too. At 9.15 we were still waiting for our entrees.. To say I am not impressed is an understatement. I am disgusted. For pub to get something so simple as entrees and a salad so dismally wrong and not even offer to make any effort to rectify the situation other then to shrug and say " we'll try harder" absolutely stinks. We used to come here before the renovation and you could count the patrons on your hands, if the kitchen can't get itself sorted out and soon, no amount of money spent on renovations will have patrons returning if they don't get fed. Bed was slept in and was not made with fresh sheets, pee on toilet seat (toilet was not cleaned) hair all over shower and hand basin. Mentioned this to reception and the lady was 10/10 and gave us a new room which did have a fresh sheets put on, this lady was amazing and was their saving grace.

Also, whilst on the toilet, someone opened my door and before I could get off, door was closed, I immediately opened my door and looked outside and to ask the lady if she had opened my door and she said “oh yeah it was me, but I didn’t go in, they asked me to come down and see if you needed anything” no knock on the door, nothing, just Unlocks my door and has a look in. The lock on my door is broken (chain lock) which would have prevented this, not that I thought I would need it.

I don’t like to knit pick but I believe people should know what they might get when coming to this place.
