I am rating about the room to stay in particular - the standard of cleanliness and maintenance appears to have decreased from before and I was disappointed with my stay

Good the bed was okay for us - clean enough and were small so double bed is OK and comfy enough provided some toiletries and toilet is clean enough. lighting in room with dimmers in the bar is nice provides tea and breakfast but so you're aware that just means bread and cereal and the bread is in the fridge in a zip lock bag so I dont know how I feel about eating it. host was nice enough

Bad maintenance - lots of spider webs, the pool water wasnt that clear, hedges growing and blocking the pathway so you need to duck alot. A bit overgrown things left everywhere around property like cloth, quilt, including the gazebo and supposed sauna makes it uninviting dirty - found used cotton tip, spider webs in room including in the bowl. The dirty doilies on the bar... musky smell, smells like old things. The provided diffuser doesn't work. there is no ac. There is a dehumidifier, fan and heater that may be why it's muggy. the Buddha painting over the bed scares me. I usually don't mind Buddha but there's something about the mouth in this particular painting. This may be a personal preference but they should update the photos on the website. some basics but others not- Theres no towels but theres bath robes? The soap container in the bathroom was half used but also there was additional soap on counter. May be left over from another guest? There was water in a container which looked stale. I think the owner may have just missed out these details.

I think the owner is a nice elderly man, but the standard of the room is more like his own home rather than the standard of "retreats" and hotels...

A Transformative Experience at The Sanctuary Retreat

I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to stay at The Sanctuary Retreat. Having visited numerous retreats throughout my journey, I can confidently say that this one stands out as something truly special.

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene accommodations and the diverse areas spread across the property. The experience of walking through the lush, thick grass to reach the sauna, ice bath, and treatment room was unforgettable. The large barrel sauna and ice bath provided a rejuvenating experience that I will cherish.

A highlight of my stay was the soul-changing treatment I received from the wonderful Alexis. It was as if I traveled through different dimensions, experiencing a unique and profound transformation. The treatment left such a lasting impression that I decided to book another session—an experience that was, without a doubt, life-changing. 💫

As I explored the property further, I discovered the breathtaking Loftus Forest trails that back up to the retreat. Hiking through these trails felt like a rebirth, reconnecting me with nature and myself. I was thrilled to find the boat shed, just a 30-minute walk through the forest, where I had the pleasure of kayaking on the tranquil river. It was an adventure that added a delightful touch to my stay.

I cannot recommend The Sanctuary Retreat highly enough. The energy of this place is truly out of this world, and I am already planning my return. If you’re seeking a transformative experience in a beautiful setting, this is the place to be.

I went on a 3 day Santuary retreat last Saturday to Monday and prepared for and celebrated the Winter Solstice by cleaning out old emotional stuff with a personal cord cutting ceremony I did in nature followed by moving my stuck energy with some amazing kundalini yoga guided by Alexis.

Life is challenging me to expand and grow, I am ready and up for it and feeling much stronger after this reset. I enjoyed wonderful deep conversations with Alexis and even had a great conversation with a beautiful duck called Daisy who lives there! Sounds crazy but when you are feeling good the animals want to be in on it with you! What a blessing.

I am so pleased that I gave myself space to feel into what is going on, in my partner relationship and with myself. I feel better having stepped back from my busy life and my relationship to reflect. I am a business woman and needed to take a time out and connect at a deeper level with myself and allow grief that has been stuck to be expressed and to let go of the past that has been holding me back. The results have yet to show themselves yet I am confident that they are already in the process of showing up. I already experienced more flow on my way back home even though the experiences I created and am anticipating have yet to manifest.

Blessings to you Alexis and to the women I look forward to connecting with with through The Sanctuary community.

I recently attended The Sanctuary Day Retreat, and it was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The way Alexis holds space is unlike any other retreat I’ve been to—there’s a deep sense of care, intention, and presence that makes you feel completely supported and at ease. What stood out to me most was how unique the retreat felt compared to others I’ve attended. Every part of the experience was thoughtfully curated, creating a space where I could fully immerse myself and connect not only with myself but also with my partner. I love that this retreat is now open to men as well—it was a beautiful way for us to share a meaningful and grounding experience together. By the end of the day, I felt wholesome, content, and truly happy. It was a deeply restorative experience that left me feeling lighter and more aligned. I will absolutely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a space to reconnect, reflect, and recharge. Thank you, Alexis, for creating such a special sanctuary!
