Overrated and a rort. Sometimes I wonder why it is we pay for a parks pass and still get taxed again on top. Arrived at the camp site at 6pm after an hour trek on a treacherous entry track (why is this track not properly maintained in the taxes and fees we pay? ). Facilities such as showers and firewood are not accessible unless you are there within office hours of 9am to 4pm, what a joke, most people arrive at a camp site to sleep and are travelling and viewing attractions during the day. Have covered enough of tasmania and it's camp sites to know there is alot better than is on offer here. I still can not work out what I paid 23 dollars a night on top of my park pass for 🤔 One thing I have the utmost respect for is how well maintained park pass camp sites are and the work park rangers do. But on this occasion I did not see the logic of being stung on top of my park pass, especially for a campsite offering nothing out of the ordinary. Truly disappointed and will not recommend this...

Amy (maybe the park ranger here) was very glad to see us this morning on our departure. Love her positive attitude professionalism and love for her job. We were really impressed by how clean the toilet here were. No smell and apparently it has something to do with a van and separate vent. The site is extremely clean and well managed. Price is very reasonable and worth giving for the maintenance. Overall it's a very quiet site. Thankfully no techno music here overnight with the policy in place. Ps. The place is not for you if you can't sleep through the sound of wave, as the site is next to a gorgeous beach, which we enjoyed very much. Very clean...

I had an amazing experience camping at Fortescue Bay Camping Ground last year. The campground was well-maintained, and the facilities were very clean. The best part of my trip was the help provided by the Campground Host Jac. She was very welcoming and helped me with all my queries. I felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay. The location is stunning, surrounded by beautiful beaches and hiking trails. I would highly recommend Fortescue Bay Camping Ground to anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience in a beautiful location. Thanks again to Jac for making my stay...

A bit disappointed with this campsite. I've done a lot of NP campsite and this one is by far the least good. Most of the spot are not very flat, not much privacy and you have people driving through the campsite to get to the boat ramp, school buses dropping kids.. most of the day. The facilities are not really good either, you have to pay for shower. For 13 dollars a bit disappointed compared with other campsite. People at the office were really nice.

Thomas the ranger at the front desk was incredibly helpful. His charisma and natural talent in his role lifted our spirits as the rains poured down. His background in marine biology was extremely evident in his knowledge of the flora and fauna of the surrounding area. His love for the national park service is clear to see and he will clearly go far. Thomas was a shining light in the darkest of hours in the Tasman National Park.

Pleasant small campground located next to the Fortescue Bay beach and at the Cape Hauy trail head. Camp sites are number and located between tall trees. Overall layout is open, so internal sites are a little exposed. Good toilets and showers. Large gravel vehicle parking area located next to camp ground. Rangers office near by with some basic supplies. This is a very nice beach, white sand and cold water.
