I’ve been here at least 4 times in recent years and the lats trip was my idea to bring all of our friends to this park. What a mistake that was. The park itself is amazing; clean with great facilities. Particularly great for families, the kids love the activities on offer. The staff (not all staff) are less than ideal. We were particularly noisy on our first night, and there was some less than appropriate language coming from our area, which was limited to a couple in our group, nonetheless we traveled together. Our first and only warning was abrupt and confronting, with the owner arriving aggressively in his car and his this aggressive manner followed in his message. Although he was threatening, I treated the owner with respect and agreed with him after he highlighted how noisy our group was. On his departure, some of our group reciprocated his aggressive behavior with some verbal comments of our own. At the end of our night, other campers could still be heard partying. The next day I was approached and asked for everyone in our group to leave and no refund issued. I offered unconditional apologies, but included that not one of our groups 10 children awoke that night, so I questioned how disruptive we were, but again apologized and pleaded for another chance, for the sake of our children. That request was accepted and we were so grateful. About an hour later, this staff member was contacted by the owner and because he had heard some comments made about his aggressive approach to us, decided to evict us with no refund. When I asked to speak with the owner, he was unavailable. We pleaded again with just some of our group to get their money back to go and stay somewhere else, as some of the group were in bed when this took place. It was denied and they were sent home after 1 day of a 4 day trip. They would not even consider letting this family of 3 stay, while the rest of us leave. I can’t say we had no part to play in our poor experience, but overall the way we were treated was really poor. I was personally praised for the way I handled the dealings with all staff, but there was no consideration for our children who were the biggest losers here. There was not even any consideration for refund or part thereof to assist us in finding other accommodation. I would suggest this parks target audience is more senior citizens and not...

The cabin was poorly cleaned. Dirty dishes, hair and soap scum in shower, very dusty. Very cold at night. Heater was too loud to keep on all the time. Very noisy with tv heard clearly from other cabins. Smoke alarm missing. Door lock was loose. annu Saarimaa 41 points

Response from the owner 5 hours ago. The Family Budget Cabins all have electric blankets, spare blankets and quality doona's for warmth even when the heat pump is set on a low fan setting. We have installed new heat pumps in our budgets, so it's not like they are old noisy ones. The Budget Cabin is open plan and if a heat pump is noisy for you, the recommendation would be to book a cabin that has seperate rooms. These will cost more. You came into the office and told us about the missing smoke alarm. We told you we were aware and are waiting on the order to be delivered so that we can fit it. You didn't however, let us know about the quality of the cleanliness. We would have been able to either move you, re clean it for you or work something out. We never had a chance to come and look for ourselves. We are disappointed that you have chosen to let us know via this medium after the fact.

Reply to Big4. True, there was an electric blanket which did keep us warm for the night. But the heater in number 17 cabin was not an upgraded quiet heat pump but an old wall mounted model. We did not purposefully book a budget cabin, we just wanted accommodation that accepted pets. There was no electric blanket for our dog who was shivering all night. And is it our responsibility to inform you that the accommodation you provide is not clean? Surely that is a part of your quality control. Sign says to clean and put away dishes. Does this then exempt you from even having to check how well the previous guest has done this? Sorry,...

I booked the accessible cabin for myself and my family and support worker for a family holiday. The service was friendly, the cabin clean and the park busy with summer holiday campers enjoying themselves. The accessible cabin, whilst generally comfortable could do with improvements in relation to access. The cabin is small and unfortunately I couldn't actually access the bedrooms independently with my wheelchair. The bathroom does have solid rails by the toilet and the shower which is open plan. The sink is accessible. It would be good to have some shelf space in the bathroom and an accessible folding shower seat would make the small space work much better. Things like having a shower caddy that's reachable from a sitting position in the shower and controls such as the air conditioning in the living room should also be available by reach from sitting. I had support from family and a support worker but an accessible cabin needs to think about the end user and unfortunately this doesn't work very well. New work in the park looks like it has been better thought through, however the games room was also inaccessible due to the step. Our stay was enjoyable and the jumping pillow was a hit with our daughter, as were free icypoles on hot days for the kids. The location is peaceful and relaxing, the staff are very friendly and on the whole it's definitely a hit for families, but not very accessible in the accessible unit.

Will add that staff posted home a lost then found, fluffy owl 🦉 Feathers, to our daughter who had been left behind. He obviously wanted an extra night on holiday. Thanks so much...

This place was absolutely horrific. Don't go here for the unpowered sites. Those are very neglected. Other sites are very cramped. We stayed here a few weeks ago and were literally dumped in a mud pool. The hill that was our campspot was so steep we couldn't sleep there. We tried to make the most of it but after 1 hour decided to leave the campsite. We asked for a refund, since the spot was absolutely unsuitable for anyone, but unfortunately they did not give it to us. They tried to change us to a powered site which was so cramped and busy, we couldn't accept. And it was not what we agreed upon booking, so they should have just refunded us.We even had to be towed out the place. We felt disrespected by the staff and just wanted to leave. In the end we paid more than 60 dollars for 1 hour in the mud on a steep hill (on a small patch of ground with at least 40 other cars/vans/caravans). Is that really how they treat their customers? It feels so very disrespectful to me that they give out spots like this. I am still hoping they change their minds and be decent about the refund. It's definitely not the quality I would expect from big4.

This Big4 is nice and close to the town centre if you want to walk. Park has a games room for the kids and / or big kids. There is a playground, but it is a bet of a letdown compared to mainland Big4 for the same price per night. Our grassed power site was large, well maintained, and opposite the playground. Free activities for the kids during the Easter break were great. Jumping pillows were the most popular activity for the kids, I think, mainly because of the uninteresting playground. We tested out the woodfired pizza oven, which worked great, but make sure you plan early as it takes about 45-50 minutes to heat up. The communal kitchen facilities are spacious and well stocked. Showers are a little on the small side, which is not great if you have kids with you and look a bit tired. Clothing hooks were missing in some, and those old school shower heads that can't be adjusted properly or fall down when you try because they have worn out. Also, it is an option to bring a dog as well. Overall, it's not a bad Big4, but I've been in better ones for the same money.

I stayed in the budget twin room, which I found quite cosy and clean! The room stayed quite warm and had air conditioning which worked a treat. We had shared bathrooms for this accommodations which were great, except the water from the shower would leak all over the floor. There was a shower curtain, however it didn’t do much. They were cleaned daily though and if you got in quick, you got a dry floor. The shared space was quite nice, and there were pancakes for breakfast! The only complaint I have, is that since the accommodation was built in a shipping container, whenever we closed the door, we had no service or wifi. So would not recommend if you’re travelling for work!
