The Motel Staff communicated well, were friendly, and went the extra mile. Bedding was crisp and comfortable. Information about the area was abundant and well presented. Very nicely furnished. Heat pumps were on when we arrived, but found we needed to turn them up to 'Strong' mode, and then the rooms heated very quickly and we could turn them down again. Electric blankets on all beds. Very clean. Conveniently close to the highway between Hobart and Launceston, and not too far from roads Eastward and Westward. Adequate shops nearby, and we're looking forward to having breakfast at a local bakery in this beautiful historic town. Only disappointment was that cooking facilities was limited to kettle, microwave, fridge, crockery and cutlery. In most situations, this is enough to make do, and it didn't detract from our stay, we just thought there would be a kitchen. I also thought there would be a living room of sorts (or separate kitchen). With 2 very spacious bedrooms, one including table and chairs, and the other a large desk area, this was no problem at all but if I had an active young child I might want more space, or I might be happy to make do. Young children are clearly catered for here with plastic bowls etc and a very small chair. Parking is just a couple meters from the front door, with mostly level ground, concrete path. Nice chairs out front.||Staff offered to book us in for a meal at Campbelltown Hotel, less than 10 minutes up the road. The service there was better than we've seen for a long time. The food was also exceptional, and my young folk really enjoyed themselves. We paid just over $100 for reduced portion mains each, a drink each and dessert each.||For a stopover to avoid finishing our trip home tired in the dark, we were well blessed by staying here. ...
Read moreIt's always lovely when a place exceeds your expectations. I booked into the Riverview at Ross Motel because I wanted to break the bus journey between Hobart and Launceston and because people had told me what a gorgeous Georgian gem the town was. ||It IS a gorgeous Georgian gem full of exquisite architecture and historic sites but the nice surprise was the Riverview at Ross Motel where I spent 2 nights. The rooms give you everything you need and offer a cosy refuge on a cold Tasmanian night. They're as clean as a whistle. ||Emily, the hostess, was so helpful and keen to make sure my stay was great. She gave me fresh milk (always a treat), an umbrella, and helped me with tourism information. Even better, because I was on the bus, she timed check-in and check-out to fit in with the bus timetable so i didn't have to hang around town with a suitcase for a couple of hours at both ends of my stay. ||The motel is right on the banks of the Macquarie River and it was lovely sitting out and watching the sun set over the hills while the frogs and the ducks did their thing in the water. ||Excellent value, great location just around the corner from the main street, very quiet, too. Highly...
Read moreWe chose to stay here while travelling from Freycinet National Park to Hobart. This is the motel where we are paying one of the highest price compared to any other hotel in Tasmania. But after reaching here, looks like it’s worth it. Pictures will say it all. The rooms are neat and clean & all the facilities are excellent. They have carefully kept all the items needed in room and it has more amenities than 3-4 star hotel. Room has heater and a fan. Breakfast is included in price and it was all good. Since we came on 25th Dec Christmas Day, nothing is open. So, if travelling on Australian Public Holidays, do make your own food arrangements. About Ross- It’s a historic town in the Midlands of the state of Tasmania in Australia. On the Macquarie River, Ross is located 78 km south of Launceston and 117 km...
