Unfortunately we were really disappointed with our experience and wish we had read other reviews before paying the price we did for the standard that is delivered. By no means should this property, or its service be rated at 4 stars. The day of arrival we got a text message to say where our key to our room was, how the front gate operated . One of the opening lines on the website states that the property is set on a ‘graceful’ 6 acre block, which is obviously a big space , however there is no personalisation at this ‘4 star’ property, you are not greeted by staff nor shown the amenities available.
Speaking of amenities, Premalaya has ‘ice baths’ as part of their ‘wellbeing’ narrative however, on closer inspection of said ice bath it was more of an unclean, unkept ice box with visible dirt and debris (other peoples) on the bottom. There is no monitoring of the use and way of use of the ice box and people freely use it with compulsory showering before entering.
The lack of hygiene and cleanliness in the room was appalling. The photos on the website are misleading and fail to show a couch with a sizable hole in it covered by a ‘blanket’ bathrooms with other people’s hair clippings left in sinks and noticeable lack of attention detail in the cleanliness of bathroom walls and recesses. Premalaya boasts its property as a sanctuary with the notion that you should be able to facilitate wellbeing yet just the standard of cleaning alone was enough to feel anything but well.
The main bedroom in apartment 6 had a distinct smell of ‘urine’ and the bedding was adorned with someone else’s black hair as well as staining on the sheets. A text message was sent to the number we were given for communication and their response was that’s really strange, however they would remake the bed. Premalaya did remake the bed, they also left some of the bedding they had taken off in the room on the bedside table, again just another indication of their lack of attention to detail. Let’s remember this is a sanctuary’ with a pretty price tag.
When you go to plug your electronics in you will see the dust build up on the socket, again, lack of attention to detail. The table on the balcony was literally’filthy’ and we cleaned it ourselves.
Premalaya advise that there are horses and a sheep on the property but do not make any effort to remove their faeces from main walking areas and pathways which just adds to the ‘sanctuary’ experience when it’s two days old smell is your morning ‘fresh air’ and the flys in it are your nature sounds.
The walk to apartment six has a very obvious broken wood plank that is a safety hazard, not one we were informed of prior to arrival and like all things during our stay at Premalaya had to discover for our self.
To be honest, we worked really hard to be able to afford a ‘wellness’ get away as a female friend group and paid a pretty penny for our stay. The management of Premalaya, would be better to review their choice of description, highly edited website photos and overall description of the ‘sanctuary’ before taking people’s hard earned money for something that is far from its description. We went from wanting to remain at the ‘sanctuary’ all of our stay to not being able to get out of there quick enough. Premalaya need to review their pricing for the standard they are delivering. The lack of personal touch, and communication other than text message is a concern for a property that size as well as safety concerns. But more so, the state of the bedroom and being met with someone else’s bodily fluids and hair is absolutely horrifying. The bathrooms are not much better. Premalaya, should definitely refund all or part of the ridiculous price we paid for a very very nanga bush camp...
Read moreMy husband booked our hotels in WA and I basically just showed up (for once) so I had no expectations and what a nice surprise to pull up and be greeted by the family and their dogs, chickens and a lamb running around somewhere! Loved the accommodations- our 7 year old grabbed the keys, ran up to our room and shouted "Mama it's so modern and fancy!" so we were very comfortable with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and open kitchen (with a washing machine and diswasher). And they have 4 children who basically entertained our son the whole time which made this leg of the trip his favorite. They have 6 acres with a trampoline, playground, a dam for them to mess around in. We arrived Xmas Eve afternoon and did not have anything planned really for Xmas day so they invited us to go to the beach (2 mins drive) with them that morning and eat with them out on the deck that evening which was such a special treat, and the kids all gathered firewood and eucalyptus for kindling in the buggy and we had a big fire in the 100 year old fireplace outside, then we did it again on Boxing Day! And a one-on-one yoga session Boxing day morning which was amazing and I would say make sure you do yoga with Hayley while you are there! Such special people, who we now consider friends and will stay...
Read moreSpacious room with comfortable beds. Decor best described as minimalistic and economical. Convenient location. No reception as anticipated but we needed to contact host. Voicemail on landline was full. Sent text to mobile asking for a call and got a text response. Communication, on this visit, was very poor. Felt very impersonal. Served it's purpose but not sure where the 4 Star rating came from. PS - after reading your response Hayley. Everyone deserves a weekend off.. Your landline voicemail was also full when I phoned early August to arrange the booking - and you thanked me for pointing this out. I didn't mention the key or the TV. Key issue was understandable. TV was only because I wanted to see the news. However your wi-fi was very good. Otherwise, if you can, it might be time for...
