Read moreWe have just returned from a week at the Alphof. The hotel was perfect. We stayed in a Bergidyll room which was spacious, comfortable and spotless. These rooms have a balcony but the balcony is not quite as private as we would have liked as they basically open up into.a huge patio with a small divider between each room. The hotel pool was great to unwind in and has a good sauna though we did not use. The food was excellent with a 4 course varied menu. The hotel staff went out of the way to accommodate my lactose intolerance, providing alternative desserts and oat milk at breakfast. They also had a great selection of glutin free breakfast items for those who need it. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and a bonus were cakes and soup being provided between 3 and 5pm. The hotel put on a free Tyrolean evening for guests on Thursday evenings which was entertaining. The hotel staff and the owner were helpful and friendly and we were given a gift of Alphof jam on leaving. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Alphof again. The only minor negative was location as if you had limited mobility you would struggle as the Alphof is at the top of the hill. This was no problem to us but could be to older guests. You can hike from the front door of the hotel and we did some lovely walks. The Alphof is a great place to relax and unwind and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone thinking of a...
Read moreSpent a week in glorious Austria in this hotel, travelling with Inghams who are first class with their hotels. Lovely hotel set in a stunning valley but not for the faint hearted as lots of walking uphill as stated by Inghams. Rooms were spacious but perhaps a little dated, hotel was spotless throughout . We were lucky to stay in the front of the hotel, room 108 had lovely views . Small swimming pool, sauna and steam room, roof top terrace all places to relax after a good days hiking. Food was good, 4 courses but a little repetitive we felt, but there was free afternoon cake from 3-5pm, you had to pay for coffee. It is worth knowing that you have to pay £2-50 if you ask for a jug of tap water, which we already knew from our last visit to Austria. If you have never been to Austria and you like walking and stunning scenery then go, you will not be disappointed, the people are friendly and all areas are spotless clean wherever you go, no rubbish anywhere obviously a totally different mindset to our country I'm sorry to say. Also worth knowing on certain hotels Inghams include a free card that allows free bus travel, cable cars, public swimming pools and other local events, this saves a lot of money as it cost's about £25 return on the cable cars and there are alot of different...
