The owners are trying very hard but are very stretched and by their own admission have reduced staffing levels and it shows in lack of efficiency and attention to details. Several minor mistakes made both in the Booking process, eg. emailed me different dates after I had booked the plane, causing a bit of worry. Was just a mistake but others did occur throughout our stay||It’s a muddled place which provides an extensive buffet when the cafe is open 3 days a week dressing the tables beautifully serving largely the local community, this is not really a breakfast buffet but all day cafe food. The rest of the week the tables are not set for the B and B guests, the left over cafe food is presented. Coffee from a machine and along with orange juice poor quality.||The apartments overlook a busy road and fumes get trapped under the balcony, definitely not pure Alpine air .||Apartments are a bit fussy with niknaks but don’t provide the usual brochure about WiFi , access , rubbish disposal, recycling etc.||We have visited many alpine resorts over 40 years and this is middle of the road.||Alpbach is not the prettiest village in the alps, it has nothing local , ie bakery or deli with local meet cheese yogurt milk veg etc just a massive Spar supermarket.||The landscape however is stunning, we walked for 6 days solid, heaven knows what you would do if it rained as there is nothing there, local cafes limited...

Liked · Check in was really quick and easy, the guest house was super cosy- everything about it was just perfect, scented and styled with care. The room was of just the right size, nice and quiet, great beds and pillows, an awesome TV, water cooker, tea, a very nice welcome drink, nice clean bathroom, fresh fluffy towels .... The breakfast was amazing! one could see that it was all home made, prepared and decorated meticulously. Fully made with tons "love and care". The breakfast room was spacey and bright had well sized tables and very nicely decorated. An unbelievably huge variety of foods drinks... the set up was so nice that it seemed a shame to "mess it up" by taking from it! Manuela was super friendly and forthcoming . she and her team catered 100% for every possible need wish and desire. Was all simply too good. !
Everything was absolutely PERFECT. there was nothing not to like. Flawless everything. We loved every bit of it. Highly recommend the guest house.... definitely...
Read moreIf you are looking for the best place to stay in Alpbach, then you have just found it! The Weiherhof is the ultimate in decor, hospitality, cleanliness and friendliness. I have just returned after an 8 night stay with my 2 daughters ( 13 and 10) and we all absolutely loved the place. The accommodation was superb, large, very clean 2 bed(2 balcony) apartment with all the facilities that we needed. Amazing attention to detail, not only in the rooms, but also the heated boot driers/ washing machine/dryer in the boot room, to the absolutely wonderful breakfast, of which it is well known locally for. Whilst there, friends who are regulars to Alpbach of 20+ years ( in various larger and more expensive hotels) visited us, and they were envious to say the least! 2-3 mins walk to the Spar, and the free ski shuttle to the lift, stops opposite. Many thanks for a wonderful stay Manuela and Andreas, we will definitely...
