A group of us stayed here for a weeks skiing and it was the best accommodation I have ever had for skiing. The comfort rooms were just that; the beds were comfortable and cosy, the bathrooms were very nice with plenty of hot water and there seemed to be under floor heating too. We made full use of the sauna each day to relax our weary bones. Above all the whole hotel was kept immaculate and Nadja and Christian were very hospitable and visible everyday with their hands on approach; nothing seemed to be too much trouble.||The jewel in the crown however is the food. We were on half board and you eat in the restaurant where everyone comes to each night, as they have quite a reputation locally. The staff were a credit to Nadja and Christian and very friendly, serving us some stunning 4 course food every night; we really looked forward to our evenings in the restaurant.||Although the hotel is on the outskirts of Altenmarkt it is within easy reach of the town and we walked there along the river and it was beautiful. You do not need to be concerned about transport to the ski resort as the ski bus stops right outside the hotel and they run every 20 mins to Zauchensee.||I am delighted to find such a gem and will definitely be coming back to this hotel. In my opinion it should be more than a 3 star, they are serving up food that would not be out of place in some 4/5 star hotels. Amazing, do not change one...
Read moreSkiing in Zauchensee for a week in March. Stayed at the Laudersbach near Altenmarkt in a comfort room with a friend and we really enjoyed our stay. Rooms clean, bed comfortable and furnishing of a high standard.||||Dinner in the restaurant consistently excellent; salad and/or soup to start with a choice of main course and dessert, all delicious. We stayed half board, the restaurant had a cosy atmosphere with local families visiting to eat on an evening. Waiting staff were attentive, efficient and helpful.||A self service, continental breakfast was available in a pleasant, breakfast room with views of the valley and mountains.||||Do be aware that this hotel is next to a busy main road, however we were not disturbed by any traffic noise during our stay (we were in the main hotel rather than the Guesthouse which is nearer the road). The ski bus stop was at the end of the drive and buses to Altenmarkt and Zauchensee were regular, bus timetables were available in the hotel. ||||Hoping to return for another visit with my husband and 3 teenage children I asked the owner if I could look at the family rooms before I left. I was shown a number of different types of rooms, all of a good standard. The economy rooms were smaller than comfort rooms.||Loved this hotel,...
Read moreNot often we have negative experiences at hotels but this time I feel like I have to write a review. First of all, this is not a spa hotel (even though they practice spa hotel prices at about 150€/200€ night in November). The "spa" is open only 4h/day from 3:30pm and getting towels there is not easy as they're not replacing often. The rooms are tiny and you have a washing basin next to the bed, which is something I never seen before. The "double bed" is actually two single beds together. No water, tea or coffee provided in the room. Service here is definitely not at European standards (maybe Austrian standard) as the staff is not very friendly and their poor English skills tells you a lot of the type of guests that stay here. The hotel itself is right next to a highway so it's not the most relaxing location. Breakfast was okay but needs to be improved to have more vegetarian-friendly options. The only positive thing I would say was the friendly young man at the reception and breakfast area (it's all together so they save on staff) which let us checkout 1 hour later, free of charge. Overall not a place I...
