Gasthof & Restaurant Laudersbach — Restaurant in Altenmarkt im Pongau

We stayed at the hotel next door and came here for dinner on a Saturday evening around 9pm. To our surprise there was only a few tables around so we wondered if they were still serving. One of the waitresses came and looked at us without greeting and had a face of "what are you doing here?" so I asked if the kitchen was still open and serving. She wasn't too happy but directed us to a table. The vibes of this place were a strange, stressful environment without manners or friendliness. When the order arrived at the table we realised that one of the dishes was different from what we ordered so we felt bad to send it back. I myself ordered an alcohol free beer but instead got an alcoholic free wheat beer which is not my favourite. At the end you end up paying 40-50€ for a few basic pasta dishes and two drinks. When we were leaving, the front door of the restaurant was already closed and we were directed to go through the hotel upstairs. While getting the bill at the end the waiter did indeed apologise for the mistake, probably with the intention of still getting a little tip which was obviously not given. I'm surprised to see the positive reviews here, it only makes me conclude that for Austrian standards and locals around the area, the lack of service and lack of friendliness is acceptable but I can tell it's not for European standards for sure. I definitely will not come back...

Das Essen ist der wichtigste Grund, warum man ein Restaurant oder Gaststätte besucht. Die Speisekarte ist interessant, da für diese Region als eine ortsansässige Gaststätte auch mehrere asiatische Speisen angeboten werden. Der Verdacht kommt auf, dass man diese Gerichte dann auch gut beherrscht. Leider ist dies nicht der Fall. Aber auch ein Kinderburger ist in normaler Größe kein Kindergericht. Die Qualität ist leider auch sehr fragwürdig gewesen und wurde trotz großem Hunger nicht gegessen. Als ich dann probiert habe, war mir klar warum. Ungewürztes TK- Fleischpatty welches sehr zäh war.

Der Service war bemüht, musste dennoch öfter gerufen werden, bis endlich mal einer vorbeikam, obwohl der Geschäftsführer unweit von uns an der Bar stand. Das gesamte Erlebnis im Gasthof war für seine Fassade nicht gut und verleitet mich auch nicht eine Empfehlung auszustellen. Als Fazit bleibt mitzuteilen: Schuster bleib bei deinen Leisten und zaubere lieber ein saftiges Schnitzel und sonstige regionale Gerichte, wie man es von österreichischen Gaststätten sonst...
