Hotel Marc Aurel — Hotel in Gemeinde Petronell-Carnuntum

Overall a nice hotel, the restaurant atmosphere was comfortable and the room was nice and clean. The only issue was the dinner, probably. We came to our table at around 21:20, while we were told at reception they’ll take dinner orders until 21:30. We were waiting to be served, however, no waiter came until it was already past 21:30, and we were told we already cannot order food, only desserts and drinks. Even though we came on time. So we went to our rooms hungry. I think it is only the waiters’ laziness, as they were going around the tables, cleaning them up while we were sitting, just not taking our order, because they apparently wanted to leave, when the restaurant closes at 22:00. Also, you are unable to obtain the info that they stop serving half an hour earlier before closing time, as it’s not written anywhere, you only get that told by the...

This is an honest opinion

First you have to compare the hotel with it's level not with a five star hotel . For its price I have to say it worth it. But are you gonna be 100% comfortable? Definitely NOT.

the room is only basic. Just bed and one tiny table and a chair which in some rooms is really old. No coffee machine, glasses, vanity kits, etc. The bathroom is tiny and the shower cabin door in my room( 215) didn't fully close so after taking a shower whole bathroom became a pool. Also, the shower facets kept dropping and water kept changing temp.

NO AIR-CONDITIONING in the room and if you have a visit in summer time then you may want to reconsider for some other places because you have to open the windows for fresh or cool air and then insects and flies invade inside. 🤷‍♀️.

FREE BREAKFAST is available and it was alright 👍. Mostly cold breakfast except scrambled eggs...

"Pets friendly"... 9 euros extra PER anim... for us the room at 63 euros became 90 euros. Ok why not i can undestand it is more cleaning work but... they gave us a dirty room. Spider on the roof... separated beds (when we asked... as couple... a double size unique bed for obvious reasons), no AC and small window (34C that night outside by the way... imagine in the room) and very noisy. So yeah i don't care about the price but when i pay for 90 euros service... i never expect to end up with the quality prestation of a dirty motel on the border of the road. On another hand its restaurant is amazing i must say. So "Raffiné" it almost made us forget for half an hour everything else. The staff is pretty welcoming and helping too. So at the end it is a very mix feeling experience.... maybe we got unlucky and is a one time error... but seriously the room is NOT acceptable...
