Do NOT stay here unless you like a grumpy unapproachable manager, spider webs and filth in the cabins, shared bathroom that smells like an outhouse, useless wifi. Everything about this property is disgusting! I’m a senior lady who stayed here with my sister for one night in September 2018. I had booked a cabin for three back in January. When plans changed and a cabin for only two people was needed instead Of for three I contacted the property by phone two weeks previous to my stay and the owner pretended not to speak any English. Upon arrival at the property I requested a smaller unit as we no longer needed a “family unit” and even though every cabin was available the owner would not offer a discount. We paid $125 for a filthy cabin with broken stairs. My credit card was charged two weeks before my stay! Worst stay in Austria and a total rip off! For a much better deal we could have stayed in a clean gasthause or...

From my last 20 years of traveling this was definitely the worst camping place in Germany and Austria. Even though I do admit it is located on nice and interesting place.

  1. Very unfriendly and slow staff at the reception - the whole time I spent on reception was about 40 minutes! Horrible.
  2. They wanted to charge us for 3 months old baby. Never experienced ever elsewhere before.
  3. Not very clean toilets.
  4. No soap at bathrooms.
  5. No toilet paper at toilets.
  6. Most expensive camping in our 7 days DonauRadWeg trip.
  7. Not very safe place. Somebody visited our neighbor when they went for dinner and moved their camper wagon from stabilized position. The lights on our bikes were turned on during our absence. Just some youngsters having fun, but it didn't make us feel...

Camped here while on cycling tour and had a poor experience. This campground is not set up well for cyclists who are put into a field next to a busy road. Although there are 2 picnic tables, there is no covered area to sit, so we took shelter on the closed campground restaurant deck to have out dinnerwhich the owner certainly did not like. In fact, the owner could really benefit from some customer relations training. Be aware, the reception is not open Mondays, but there is no signage to indicate this, so numerous campers were frustrated when the reception did not open at the designated time. Not a good scene . One set of campers left and one set intentionally left very early to avoid paying. On the positive side, there are some trees and the...

If you just need to stay overnight then it's okay. It's situated ivery near to the main road. You will hear trucks and cars passing by from early morning. I was also surprised by the quantity of mosquitoes so bring mosquito repellent. Stuff is okbut no English speaking. Checkin is online at the place so no big deal. The campsite is situated very near to the downtown so you can go to eat to the town and have fun. Or have a walk by the Danube. there is automatic bar without bartender . you can sit and have a cheap beer at a nice table watching the big river.

We booked for a quick overnight stay to cut a long drive in half. A caravan seemed to be a good choice, although expensive at EUR 50.00. A picture is worth a thousand words, enough to say the thing was filthy, covered in black mold, the windows wouldn't stay open and the whole thing smelled damp and was excruciatingly hot. The place needs a serious refresh! Location was great although a bit noisy by the road. Not recommended!

Beside of beautiful view of the castle I do not really recommend staying in this camping. Owner is very rude and absolutely not helpful, toilets are in total mess - no soap, towels and toilet paper, floor is dirty and wet and toilets are plugged. WiFi is available, but you need to ask for password (whether you get it depends on the humor of the owner). Unfortunately as far as I know, there are no other camping in Grein.
