Berghotel HOIS — Hotel in Heiligenblut am Großglockner

What a wonderful experience! I almost do not know where to start... First of all - it's a small, lovely family hotel located in a quiet neighborhood within 5 mins walk from a cable car station giving you access to a truly magnificent skiing area. The apartments are stunning - spacious, nicely decorated and shining clean. Honestly - website photographs don't give you the full picture, we were simply enchanted when we entered ours. And then it's Karoline - a charming host, ever graceful and always smiling, always there to help you. The moment you step through a door you immediately feel looked after and you feel like at home. It is really amazing. Karoline pays attention to all little details making her hotel a truly unique place. She's just a genius loci - a genuine soul of this place. And finally - the food - an almost spiritual experience. Prepared from the best local ingredients (local fish such as rainbow trout, Galloway beef, amazing 3-taste dumplings, divine desserts) Hois dinners left us speechless. Three times WOW to the Chef (and his charming assistant Anna). It is so heart-warming that still there are people for whom good, home made natural food is something worth taking time and effort. We had been to Heiligenblut 10 yrs ago and it was great, but this time we have spent an absolutely wonderful week, all thanks to Berghotel Hois, and we will be looking forward to coming here again. 26/06-2019: Our car broke down in the mountains, and we had to find a place to stay. I have stayed in Heilgenblut on many occasions and in different hotels. I think Berghotel is the wrong name for this quaint hotel. The service is good although my room was not cleaned on the first day. I was traveling alone and for some reason I was given an upgrade and had an apartment with two rooms and a kitchen. The evening meal was of a high standard. They had two w fire connection and both did nor work properly through out my stay. All in all it was...
