Stayed here on my first trip to Austria in July 2005. Don't expect a view - rooftops are all you will see! Made a good impression on me - all the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was in the new wing and very pleasant - nice balcony, spacious (tho' you do pay more for the new wing rooms), reasonable bathroom - although there was only a shower, which doesn't bother me but may some people. Comfortable beds, cleaning standards high.||||The wellness area was good, but very underused apparently in the summer - I went in every day and was the sole user. Pleasant pool (half indoors, half outside), sauna, steam room, whirlpool free of charge, sunbeds cost extra. ||||Food was excellant. I'm vegetarian, and my partner was concerned that everything would be meat based. The dinner menu every day gave 3 options, one of which was always vegetarian. In addition, the salad buffet was comprehensive. The only day where choice was limited was the barbeque evening, but the salads were generous so not really a problem. I don't really eat on the culinary edge, but found no problem at all in finding enough to eat. Breakfast had a good cold selection - fried eggs were available but if you didn't arrive when they were freshly cooked they were a little hard!||||Hotel in a good position (despite lack of view) - a couple of minutes walk one way to the town, and another way to the lakeside. The raod outside the hotel was a little noisy with revellers on Fri/Sat evenings, though nothing to cause a problem.||||A lovely introduction to Austrian hotels, and would...
Read moreDuring our five-day skiing trip, our stay at this hotel was a highlight, marked by comfort (very comfortable bed even with back problems), cleanliness, and outstanding service. The culinary offerings were exceptional, including a special menu thoughtfully designed for our New Year's Eve celebration, which catered beautifully to both non-vegetarian and vegetarian tastes. When I fell ill, the staff's extra care, like providing hot soup for my sore throat, was heartwarming. Perfectly located for skiing, with delicious breakfasts and meals, this hotel's detail-oriented, friendly staff made our experience unforgettable.
A note for guests with mobility challenges: the hotel does not have an elevator. However, given the staff's demonstrated willingness to assist, I am confident they would be eager to accommodate and help solve any issues that arise. Overall, highly recommended for a...
Read moreWe had a very pleasant stay in the hotel. The hotel lies in a very beautiful and calm little town in close proximity to various lakes, mountains, and bigger cities like Villach. The Stadler-family manages to give you a very homely feeling. They also gave us great recommendations for various activities that can be done in the region, such as a leisurely hike to a very nice viewpoint, the so-called "Granattor". You can easily see that the owners are very connected with their region and that they are very fond of it. You can actually learn a lot about Carinthia by talking with the very friendly owners. When it comes to the cuisine offered in their restaurant there is only one thing to be said: Excellent! Everything is freshly prepared with products from the region. We really enjoyed discovering the typical "Kärnter" cuisine.
