I recently stayed at B&B Hotel Salzburg-Nord and would like to share an experience that may be helpful for travelers with special needs.
On my final day, a nutrition product I rely on—part of a sterilized closed system—unexpectedly burst due to the heat in the room and lack of refrigeration (possibly caused by fermentation). It left a stain on the ceiling that I couldn’t clean before leaving. The spot was difficult to reach, and I was rushing to catch a train with heavy luggage.
Later, I was charged €340: €200 for cleaning and €140 for repainting the room. Additionally, the credit card used for the booking was blacklisted.
While I understand the hotel’s responsibility to maintain its facilities, I was surprised by the lack of flexibility or empathy. Disclosing special needs isn’t always easy, and I had hoped for a more understanding response. The hotel promotes itself as inclusive and welcoming to disabled guests, and I truly hope it continues to grow in that direction by recognizing the diverse needs of all travelers, not just those with visible mobility challenges.
This was a difficult moment during an otherwise beautiful trip. I share this experience in the hope that future guests with special requirements will feel more supported...
Read moreSo, I found myself at the B&B Hotel Salzburg-Nord on my latest jaunt to Salzburg, and I've got to say, it was a pleasant surprise! The location's a winner, especially if you're planning on darting in and out of the city or you've got a car with you. It's a nice breather from the super touristy center, yet still close enough that you aren't missing out on the action.
Rooms are on-point: clean, modern, and got all the basics covered. Think comfy beds, a neat bathroom, and just the right amount of space to spread out a bit. And if you're like me, relying on the internet for just about everything, the free Wi-Fi was a lifesaver – quick and reliable.
The staff, they're real gems. Friendly, full of local knowledge, and always up for a chat about what to see and do. I skipped on breakfast (too many Austrian pastries calling my name elsewhere!), but the buzz from other guests suggests it's worth a go.
There's also this relaxed, almost homely vibe to the place. You know, where you can stroll in after a long day of sightseeing, kick off your shoes,...

Bus stop for line 21 is right at the hotel door to connect to the center, 4 km to center.
Breakfast is 10.5 euro, good quality and a better deal than having it in the city center.
In depth review: The room and toilet were good. The bed is good The pillows need to be exchanged with better ones. Ours were too low and chewed up. I'd give it 5 stars if the pillows were good. The carpet appears to be clean, however care must be taken around the corners and behind the door as dust might accumulate and not be easily seen. The ventilation system and heater run perfectly and the air quality is good. Sound insulation is fair, the club at the ground floor can be lightly heard until ca. 2 am. Nice and helpful personnel.
Would I book this hotel again for holidays: Yes! I...
