Chalet Hotel am Leitenhof — Hotel in Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser

... just my opinion... it is a nice hotel typical Austrian style which is fabulous! The staff is really friendly and helpful so this part I would say well done. We had a sunny side suite facing the slopes which is a stunning view ... can recommend for sure! The room itself is quite spacious big living area and big bathroom with walk in shower and jet bathtub the bedroom wasn’t my favourite because there is no window which I personally don’t like so much. ;-/ ||The rooms are a bit noisy even on the top level you can hear you’re neighbors walking around even when there in the bathroom ... not so ideal. There is no coffee maker or any coffee powder... feedback from the front desk... nobody in the past used them ... well not the info I was looking for but hey there is tea and a water cooker well you have to plug it in somewhere in the room on the floor because the plug is missing. All over rooms are okay but no highlight! ||The restaurant where breakfast and dinner will be served is a bit outdated I would say but still okay. Breakfast is standard no “wow” effect the same with the dinner menu ... food is good though! ||Last one don’t expect a huge SPA ... it is really tiny nice and clean steam room and Sauna and relaxing area... notho you can hang around for long! ||However all over a nice location and yes certainly a nice hotel. I probably would’t come back for the high price... we paid more then 300EUR per night ... the details are missing ... like I said in the beginning just my opinion nothing bad at all!...

Despite three remarks which I have to the hotel I give 5 stars and I fully recommend Hotel Leitenhof. Our stay was very satisfied. Hotel has an excellent location, outside the village, but only 10 minutes walk from the center. Fantastic connection to the village and skilift by skibus. Rooms nice designed, clean, spacious and equipped with everything what you can need and require. Good wellness with two saunas, relaxing beds, healthy drinks and snacks. Winter terrace available to cool up. Breakfast was good with quality products and dinners absolutely excellent, especially New Year's Eve dinner which was delicious. Very professional service in the restaurant. Good choice of wines and good serving of them. Generally staff kind, nice and involved. We appreciate work of everybody. And in the end my remarks. Firstly: with the stay longer than 4 nights, bedlinen should be changed. Secondly: very weak standard of cocktails with a high price. I understand 5stars price -no problem - but 14.90 for tonic&tonic 😉exaggeration. And the last one and the most suprising: we spend every End Year period in Austria in the similar standard hotels. And the first time we were charged for the invitation champagne before the New Year's Eve dinner. I understand that it was quality champagne but it was still invitation drink and we met such situation first time...

Our third time at the Leitenhof (when we arrived we were treated like long lost family) and everything was as good as ever. This time we took our son and his fiance, both of whom are vegans, and were, as it turned out, the first vegans they had ever catered for!||||Nothing was too much trouble and they did a fantastic job in providing interesting, innovative and tasty vegan food. ||||The snow was wonderful this year (it has never been bad in any of our visits). The Ski Welt area is extensive, the infrastructure is very impressive (no lift queues, hardly and T bars and many chairlifts have heated seats), all in all, a great place to ski.||||The other really nice thing about The Ski Welt area / Austria is that the people who work in the resorts seem genuinely pleased to see their visitors PLUS the prices of food and drink on the mountains is really good value for money and not OTT like France or Switzerland.||||We had a wonderful holiday and intend to return next year.
