JUFA Hotel Wipptal — Hotel in Steinach am Brenner

Very bad experience. I have booked (reservation n. 4869196295), a night with my wife from 15 to 16 September (breakfast included) while traveling from Germany to Italy through Austria. Falling sick on the 15th I couldn't travel on the 15th so we left too early in the morning of the 16th wishing at least to try the praised breakfast of the hotel. Unfortunately with the heavy traffic and rain near Munich that morning, and after an eight hour drive, I called the hotel from my car kindly asking if they would be so kind to offer us breakfast although with some delay (exactly 30 mn after the end of the "official breakfast time") before we continue to Italy. The answer was: " this is not possible, all we can offer you is bread and ham". I declined because my wife is allergic to meats including ham. To sum-up, I paid my booked night way in advance with breakfast included and when I asked for a service (that I paid for) due to an unexpected condition, they treat me as if I were a beggar or as if a breakfast for a couple that I asked for (although late due to force majeure) will impoverish that hotel. By the way, a hotel that doesn't have the ability to adapt wisely to such situations of their clients gives a bad image of itself. To conclude, that was the first and will be the last time I book JUFA...

Update September 2025 It hasn't gotten better over the years. We had friends staying and someone walked in on them late in the evening as they thought the room si empty ... witnessed few times that guest checked in into occupied rooms. Staff is rather standing around instead of possibly helping bring drinks outside Now no food outdoors is just being lazy and Definitely only the bare minimum is done. This could be made into a nice location for dining travel and play yet there doesn't seem to be an interest.

Badly slow service, not friendly, lots of tables not cleaned. Ashtrays nit emptied No table service - always have to order arrived the counter. Takes forever to make the drinks and water glasses were dirty Staff standing around chatting, instead of cleaning and rearranging Hot chocolate not hot. No ice cream available on...

We checked in (basic room/ok bed). When we rested in bed after entering the room, suddenly the door to another room opened ad a man was looking at us!! How is that possible? We were shocked! The unexpirienced receptionist found out that somebody forgot toclose this door… UNACCEPTABLE. We arrived from Italy and wanted to eat Austrian food and asked for advise and she told me that there was no other than italian food in the surroundings and advised to eat the the hotel buffet with lots of noisy children. Not attempting at all.. I googled and found a phantastic gasthoff Lamm in the next village. Was she lying or didn’t know?
