Hotel Kristall — Hotel in Untertauern

We had a fantastic 4-day stay at Hotel Kristall. The hotel is very convenient to both alpine and cross-country trails, and to the main road where restaurants and shops are located. The owners upgraded us to a larger room gratis to accommodate our very tall son. The room was spacious, modern and clean. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. Monday night Fondu Night was tasty and fun; an added bonus was that we were seated with and got to know other guests. We enjoyed the saunas a few times -- infrared and Finnish. The Kindl Family went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay and we are already talking about returning! The only suggestion for improvement is that it would be very nice to have a hot beverage station in the lobby with hot water, tea bags, hot cocoa packets, and coffee for when guests return to the hotel...

The Kindl family are lovely. The hotel is in an excellent location and you can ski a blue run to the hotel. The rooms are modern and cosy with great views of the mountains. Staff are very polite and friendly. Breakfast was good with hot and cold food. Coffee machine in the rooms was great to wake up to with the pods replaced every day. The bar area was great with all the different types of drinks available. I took a tooth infection while there and Roland organised a dentist and taxi for me with no hassle at all. This is a nice hotel inmidst the skiing area (so no bises needed to reach the lifts). Staff is friendly and the owners keep in touch with guests. Requests were responded ro quickly, even though we had to go ask at the reception 3 times.|The breakfast buffet offers a great variety and everything was fresh (lactose-free milk available).|Only one but: we booked an 'apartment' which ended up being a 'normal' hotel room - so no kitchenette or anything.
