Lazy Flamingo Diner - American Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Untertauern

Really nice bar/restaurant in the middle of Obertauern, which is split into a bar area where you can drink (you can also eat in here if you want to) and a resturant side. It seems to be one of the only places which aren't either a hotel bar or an Apres-ski bar, so makes a nice change of pace. The music was also very good both times we visited. They do also show sport (including Premier League football), however there is no sound, so it doesn't take over the bar atmosphere, which is a nice compromise.

Beer wise they have Stiegl on tap, however they offer a few different beers in bottles from a couple of different countries, which also makes a nice change from the usual offerings in Obertauern. There's also the usual wines, spirits, soft drinks and coffees.

We stopped her to watch the Women's World Cup final and had a highly satisfying experience. While the game didn't go our way the quality of the food and service made for a lovely and relaxing afternoon. My partner's burger was cooked to perfection and my pizza was equally superb (lovely crust, yet soft and light). The staff made us and our young child feel really welcome. The food is ok, but the service makes the experience much worse. No eye contact from the waitresses, bored face, not a single smile. We have waited 15 minutes with empty glasses for someone to ask if we want another round.. waitress came, took a glass without asking and “ran”. And the restaurant was almost empty.
