Majestic Hotel — Hotel in Bahrain Island

Due to the amount of time that has elapsed since I have stayed at the Majestic, this shall not be my typical detailed review. The hotel is a bit older and when we stayed did not have an elevator. this proved to be a bit challenging as we stayed here upon moving to Bahrain and with 7 pieces of luggage and two furry family members, moving in proved to be quite a workout. ||||The service was good but the food was different each time we ordered, even if we ordered the same thing. Their was no gym and the pool area was in sad state of disrepair with exposed wiring visible in the pool itself. The rooms were comfortable and roomy enough but the kitchen had no stove. We did find the two pushed together twin mattresses to form a king size bed a bit too firm for our taste.||||Due to its pet friendly policy and this ideal location to the Naval Base I truly hope renovations have been performed or are at least planned. Booked my sons 1st birthday party at this hotel after seeing the function hall and deciding it was ok for what we needed. Booked over a month in advance and payed the full balance when requested 3 days before the party. The next day (2 days until the party) my wife was contacted by the owner to tell her that we could not use the function room as his friends needed to use it for a party they were having. He told us we could use the restaurant instead and didn't care that it was a much smaller room and the A/C sucked. It was too late to book and organise food and decorations anywhere else and he knew it. I believe that he waited until the last minute to tell us, because he knew we would have no other choice. Only after arguing with the owner multiple times about how unprofessional he was being was my wife offered a small refund and told that was all he was willing to offer for ruining our sons party. I stayed at Majestic Hotel for 2D1N and I can say that their rate is fair enough if you would like to stay less than 2 days. Arriving there from the airport considering we have reservation, but then the room is not yet ready we have to wait long time before we get inside our room. First night, can't sleep as the A/C with no reason is broken and we have to turn on the A/C of the living room to feel comfortable in the master bedroom. There's no bathroom amenities as we need to request for it. Calling the reception is impossible, so anything we need we have to get down the lobby and asked at the reception. The following day at the living room again the A/C didn't work. Their swimming pool is fine and i think good for kids but we didn't try.
