I stayed at Jatra Flagship Sylhet City Centre for a few nights. What a fantastic experience that was! It's right in the centre in Uposhohor and easy reach of all the main place to see and visit.
The air-conditioned rooms are fabulous - en-suite bathrooms, hot water, sparkling clean and with flat screen TV. The beds are big, comfortable and soft and breakfast is included too.
The two young lads, Sumon and Apurbo, are real gentlemen and will do everything they can to make you comfortable and feel welcome. Both boys are only too happy to help and advise.
The rooms are excellent, clean, safe and comfortable but Sumon and Apurbo are the two heroes who make Jatra Flagship Sylhet City Centre a special place to stay when in Sylhet. They will look after you and your family when you stay there.
I have stayed at many places and hotels in Sylhet and I can say IMHO that Jatra Flagship Sylhet is one of the best. Thank you to Sumon and Apurbo for looking after me. See you both in the future. Good luck.
The worst part about travelling to Bangladesh is the crooks and miscreants at Sylhet and Dhaka airports. The CAAB officials, and their 'chamchas' at these airports, try to make life as stressful and difficult as they can for passengers.
However, once you leave the airports and venture into Bangladesh, you'll be made to feel very welcome by the people of this beautiful country. You'll find that real Bangladeshi people are the most friendly, approachable and endearing people anywhere in the world. Jatra Flagship Sylhet is great example of the...
Read moreI previously stayed at Jatra Flag in Chittagong and had a great experience. This time, I tried their branch in Sylhet. Of course, the exterior doesn't compare to a typical hotel, but that's the unique aspect of Jatra Flag; it doesn't look like a lodging place from the outside. Initially, we booked the room for 3500, but online prices were significantly lower by over a thousand. We raised this concern, and they explained that the price included taxes. However, as far as I know, online prices in Bangladesh usually include taxes. I felt a bit misled. Additionally, the room was much smaller than the one in Chittagong, barely any space to move after placing a suitcase. This time, our room had no balcony, which was inconvenient. However, the location was good, near my client's area, quiet at night, suitable for those who dislike noise. The interior decor and service were similar to Chittagong. Unfortunately, the bathroom sink was unstable, posing a slight danger, but the hot water supply was sufficient. Many hotels in Bangladesh might have insufficient heater capacity, so timing for hot water usage is crucial. The breakfast was decent, individually served with bread, fruit, and fried eggs, enough to fill the stomach, which wasn't a problem. Overall, I might not revisit Jatra Flag in Sylhet, but I'd recommend the one in Chittagong. Last night, I switched to Hotel Valley Garden. I'll upload photos and share my experience when I have time! Stay tuned for my new review!...
Read morePlace is good, service is not.
Pros: Good amenities All things checked like - AC, Hotel Toiletries, desk, chair, tv, closet etc etc Well furnished room But that's all for the good part
Cons: As the hotel is in service apartment, we faced following issues: Can't get in or out after 11PM (really? Am I in jail?) Electricity can't take load of all equipment, like you can't turn on AC and GIZER simultaneously Lift won't be open before 8AM and turned off after 10PM Faced electricity problem, turn on AC and electricity gone
Beside these, I also faced following: Service is not good as expected, every time I've to call 2-3 times to get the service We booked two rooms(checked-in one around 6AM which I didn’t need to pay extra) and later we checked-in another room at 7PM & still I've to call several times for missing toiletries for the new room which should be given when room is being ready for new guest Shampoo is provided in the hand wash jar attached to the wall(how funny!!!) Breakfast is not buffet and provides ready made food from outside For rent I had to give 2600 taka per day but if you book from booking.com or agoda.com you'll get the price within 2000 BDT. I am so confused with their pricing policy.
Overall I won't recommend this hotel according to the price. Service is also a thing we expect with good...
