This is the review I have written for their accomodation they have rented through AirBnB in Beernem, Belgium. I thought it was neccessary to also post this here as I was really not happy with their communication and the mismatch the reality was with the promises mentioned in the add. I hope someone can make use of this review and does not let them take the big sum of money you spend on renting this mediocre accomodation (although it has such a big potential). The accomodation was nicely located and convenient for visiting surrounding cities. I do feel that the house and the grounds were neglegted for quite some time and it had not been thoroughly cleaned. Additionally, comunication was weird. As you don't talk to the host through AirBnB, which I really did not like as the communication can not be seen by AirBnB, but you get an email directly after to fill in additional information at Huswell (about the travelers and additional costs for bathtowels and bed linnen). I will type in bullit points below the things that caused our stay to be different that expected by the expectations that were created by the information provided by the renter.

The floorboards in the kitchen were a mess and posed a danger when walking in the kitchen There was a slippery steel staircase without any support bars that let you up to the bedrooms which was not very elderly friendly The faucet in the kitchen was leaking constantly The wachingmachine had mold in it Overall there was not cleaned properly, there was a lot of dirt and dust everywhere and there where just holes in the walls There were parts of the property not accesible to us, and we saw clothing, shoes and empty bottles of soda laying there and just gave a very chaotic impression There were no cushions available for the outside seating areas We had a problem with the water level of the pool which caused a lot of noise and did not get any proper response on the time line in which it would be fixed.

All in all, I think it has a lot of potential but there has to be taken much more care. Additionally, I did not like the way of communication as no personal contact could be made with the host and no real problem solving response was supplied and in the end we got no response at all. Finally, I really did not appreciate the additional costs of insurance, bedlinnen and bathtowels that had to be made after already paying for the...

NEVER AGAIN I had the unfortunate misfortune of dealing with Huswell, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I can confidently say that this organization is nothing more than a criminal operation and a bunch of scammers. Never again will I subject myself to such an appalling experience.

First and foremost, we decided to rent an apartment by the sea through Huswel, hoping for a relaxing vacation. However, we were appalled to find out that the location was in a sketchy neighborhood, leaving us feeling unsafe throughout our stay. To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to charge us over €200 per night for this terrible accommodation.

Upon entering the apartment, we were greeted by an overpowering stench of cigarette smoke. It was as if the place had been used as an ashtray for years on end. Shockingly, Huswel had conveniently forgotten to mention that the landlord was a smoker. This crucial piece of information was deliberately concealed, making it clear that Huswell is a deceitful and untrustworthy company.

We immediately contacted Huswell to request a partial refund due to the unlivable condition of the apartment. However, they blatantly refused our request multiple times. Their so-called "cleaning crew" absurdly denied any smell of cigarettes, gaslighting us and dismissing our genuine concerns. It is clear that their primary objective is to shirk any responsibility and avoid providing appropriate customer service.

In conclusion, I strongly advise everyone to stay far away from Huswel and any of their offerings. They are nothing more than con artists preying on unsuspecting customers. The unpleasant experience of staying in a cigarette-infested apartment coupled with their shameless denial of responsibility has left a bitter taste in my mouth. This is a review of Huswell, not the property rented as many others have done (property was nice). This company has abhorrent customer service, and I would never rent anything associated with their property management again. Hundreds of fake 5 star reviews can't be wrong can they? They offer a full refund of rental paid in a draw if you give them one, which I will not. Maybe they are great if there are no issues and they just collect their fee.

Issue 1 - could not get into rental. Took 20 minutes to respond to a message, and then would not answer the phone. When they finally did answer the phone, they said they were working on it and would call back in 5-10 minutes. 45 minutes later I called back and they wouldn't answer the phone. Our neighbour was also renting from Huswell and also couldn't get into their unit and were also angry by this point. Finally at 7pm, our neighbour was able to get in so we tried ours and could also get in - but no contact from Huswell on update that we could actually get in.

Issue 2 - they promised the same parking spot to both rental units. I only know this as I asked the neighbouring unit if they were given the same spot, and the response was that they were. Huswell couldn't figure this out, and wanted me to do their job and leave notes and confront someone about their car being there. No resolution from Huswell, no agent to take care of it. Just lots of "thank you we'll take that into consideration to improve". Utter garbage.

They take no responsibility, do not respond in a timely fashion as they say they will, and do not follow up with any actions. Customer service is abhorrent (non-existent really). They claim that AirBnB is their partner on one of their web pages, but they would not answer AirBnB's messages either. We rented a place for our trip to Bruges, Belgium and stayed in one of there places. If I could rate this company a 0 I would. The rental we stayed in was awful! The sheets were dirty with hair and bloodstained. The towels also had hair on them and some black stains. There were used tissues next to my bed upon arrival. The bathroom window would not open so the bad smells from the bathroom had no where to go and just lingered in our apartment. The couch was full of stains, there was MOLD in our room and moister on our walls. The coffee cup i picked up to use was dirty and had not been washed. The silverware in the drawer was dirty. So many things grossed us out about this rental. But when huswell was contacted about these issues they did not help at all. They had no person on site to even bring us clean towels or sheets. They just kept apologizing. They offered me a late check out as compensation but we didn't want to stay in that disgusting room any longer. So naturally we declined that. Then the best they could do was a 49 euro refund. I paid 536 dollars to stay in a disgusting room that they never had cleaned, and they never made it right after by bringing us clean sheets or towels. Or moving us rooms due to the mold in our room. We eneded up getting sick, and I am convinced it's from the mold in our room. The rest of our trip has been ruined! I'm very disappointed with this company and I'm hoping this review stops others from renting their properties.

We arrived in the evening in Middelkerke. It was a long journey from Germany. But the scent of the sea remembered us that we are on holiday now. The house was easy to find and the car got it's place in front of it. The checkin was easy too. There was a keypad for a number code - no key needed. The house was light and clean and inviting. All looks fine. Large windows with a nice view over the neighborhood made the rooms friendly and open. There was a small kitchen with an refrigerator a stove, an oven and a nespresso machine with many capsules for instant use. The three rooms and the hallway - enough place for us four. Middelkerke is a nice place at the sea with a large beach, pretty pubs and many shops. Brügge and Gent are not far away and Oostende and other nice locations near the sea are reachable by the "De Kusttram", a tram that goes along the coast over 67 km. A station for it is, like the beach, near the house. We had a relaxed stay for a week. We spent most of our time in Brügge and Middelkerke and we loved it.The people were friendly and helpful and the accomodation was great. We'll come again with pleasure.
