Bio Hotel - Turnhout — Hotel in Turnhout

TO AVOID. The owner wasn't there when we arrived even if I called him beforehand to tell that we would arrive in 30 minutes. I had to call him again and he arrived 10 minutes later. I had to pay directly before even getting into the room. The card was not accepted (the machine was broken according to the owner) and I had to get cash from the ATM. The smell in the whole building is just horrible. Hopefully, in the room it smelled less bad. The bathroom (which is shared) was not clean. The shower head was lying in the bath and it was not possible to hang it to the wall. The towels smelled weird and we got a normal towel and a hand towel for two persons. The curtains in the bathroom had holes like if someone burned it with cigarettes. The room itself was relatively clean but really humid. The mattresses are too big and don't match the bed bases. The bed sheets had also a weird smell and at the moment we went to bed it was itchy. When we left (at 10:30 AM), the owner wasn't there and we left the keys on the counter. Just to add a detail, most of the electric plugs are hanging miserably on the walls. Not all the lights are working. The swimming pool is covered of green stuff. In my opinion a hotel is a place where you pay to be careless. Here, thats not the case. Just open as we visit (June 2019). Spacious room, shared big bathroom. Still fixing things -lights, bathroom,wardrobes,... Steep stairs to the rooms on the first floor. Nice attention. Just call if not there as you arrive. Park in the front yard -slow down and take care not to miss...
