Very annoyed & disappointed to discover on our arrival that The Residentie Lindehof is actually an Old Peoples Residential Home where it's been decided to rent out vacant rooms. Nowhere either on Trip Advisor or Hotels.com with whom the booking was made was this fact mentioned, very poor indeed as this would certainly have influenced our decision to book.||||So the actual apartment itself was clean and adequately furnished but was just like every other Residential Home accommodation I've come across in my working life-set up for elderly people.||||Whilst there was a sink and fridge there wasn't much else & we even had to request a kettle.||||The beds were actually just two camp beds, the sort of thing I'd expect If I'd have booked a stay in a Hostel not an Apartment. ||||And Free WIFI, what a joke, our room's reception was so poor only one of our five WIFI devices would connect and this kept dropping out. Having spoken to the shift Manager, within 30 minutes of checking in on a Friday afternoon, I was greeted with the response "Have you tried standing close to the window"!!! followed by "There's nothing I can do until after the weekend", knowing we were checking out on Sunday. No offer to transfer our room or to allow us access to another of their WIFI Networks.||||Positive points were that it was certainly quiet and tranquil, the setting and nearby Town/Village were also very pleasant, there was plenty of Free off street parking and it had a pretty good selection of Satellite TV Channels (including BBC1 so got to watch Match of the Day), but most English speaking Channels did have subtitles as it was Belgian TV.||||Overall we got the impression we were an irritation to just be put up with whilst running a Residential Home. ||||We certainly won't be returning and in good conscience wouldn't recommend it for a visit, (unless of course you're wanting to know what an actual stay an an Old Person's Residential home really...
Read moreI stayed here on a Business trip, doing work in the area. I expected more from this place but I wouldn't like to stay here again.||||The good:||||* Nice amount of parking.||* Rooms are above average in decor and feels clean. Full kitchen area and microwave etc.||||The bad:||* Curtains on main living area are just the white privacy curtains, which are fine during the day, but there are no heavy curtains to enable privacy at night. ||* There is no soap whatsoever in the bathroom, so be expected to get some, (I asked the people here to supply some, and they did reluctantly.)||* Bathroom only has a shower. No bath. ||* While the car park is nice and large, I would say it's best to park around the front of the building, since there is no quick way to the parking from within the complex. This could be a problem if you are disabled or have to carry a lot of luggage.||* No attendant desk, so trying to get help etc I was forced to use the front door intercom to raise someone, there seems to be no phone in the rooms which is a bit strange.||*There doesn't appear to be any tea/coffee facilities in the room.||||Hopefully the people in charge will consider adding a few extra amenities for guests otherwise I would have given the place 4 instead of 2 which I am...
