If you are looking for the perfect get-away at a nice private beach run by an exceptional family, then this is your place. The grounds are gorgeous, the breeze coming off Corozal Bay is unbeatable, and the facilities are tremendous. Despite the immaculate grounds and the terrific locale, the best part of this place may actually be the food and Ray Wagner and his family.||||The Wagner's and their employees will make you feel special and make your stay everything it can possibly be. The food that Rosa makes is fabulous - better than anything else you can get in Belize. She has a set menu, but nightly can make special dishes. Every dish our family of four had every night was fabulous.||||Sitting around and hearing Ray's stories helps make the place even more special. If you want to get away and hide in paradise for a few days or weeks - you HAVE to come here. ||||Simply put, don't bother coming to Belize unless you plan on staying at...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night in November 2013. We were wondering what it was going to be like after the pot hole road we had travelled, and were very happy with our accommodations once we got there. As there were 4 of us we stayed in Casa Kyle, it was very comfortable and we had the place to ourselves. Supper and breakfast at the restaurant were delicious. This is a great place if you want to get away from it all and relax, however, if you are expecting to be basking on white sandy beaches and taking a dip in the sea, you might be a little...
Read moreThis is a very quaint, lovely place. A hide away of sorts. It is out of the way so food is limited to what they sell or make in their restaurant, which includes the most delicious ice cream I've ever experienced! Ray is from Canada, so every sentence ends with, "Right?". Many Canadians end with "eh", but with him it's "right" :) He was a tad stand off-ish at first, but he warmed up to us and he and his wife were very accommodating. Thier restaurant/bar is usually filled with locals in the evenings, many of whom are expats. So the quiet, tranquil days can be offset by livelier evenings if you wish. We explored in and around the water for hours, just climbing around, and found treasures in the water! I highly recommend Smuggler's Den, and would go back in a heartbeat.||We were there in 2011, but TA only allows a reviewer to choose back...
