I let my wife make the travel arrangements and she will research everything. She found Tilt-Ta-Dock and just mentioned that it had good reviews. I like to judge a place after I had a chance to see for myself. The second I spoke to Joe, because my GPS was having trouble getting me there, I felt he was a down home guy and it put me at ease. He guided me and even was waving at me from his porch as I was driving down the road. You never get a second chance to make a first impression and mine of him was excellent. Then Laura came out, it only got better! These people didn't act like business people running a business (which they are), They acted like your friends just chatting with you. Sure they went through the information of everything about the resort but we just felt so comfortable the way they informed us. The bungalow was very clean and the pictures you see on the site is the true reflection as what you experience. Some places show pictures and when you walk in you are disappointed, not here!. What you see is what you get! To me there was no exaggeration of expectations. I immediately told my wife she did GOOD on finding this place. I am solely speaking from my feelings and my personal views of my experiences of Tilt-Ta-Dock. I wanted to add that my wife and I were there for the New Year which was the same date of our 14th wedding anniversary. Joe had a place reserved at a local bar called Scotty's and had invited all of his guests to attend the New Year celebration. It was a great time and my wife and I had a better time than we usually do ( we are a bit older lol and usually just stay at home). When we left, we felt we were leaving new friends not just owners of a resort. We were lucky enough also to meet their daughter and we are so glad that we did! She is a great and kind person which is a great reflection of her parents. This is the longest review I have every written and I don't usually do much because I just don't take the time. I had to do it this time because it's what they deserve and like I say I felt we made new friends not just acquaintances. This is my review and I stand by it...

Read moreMy husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Tilt-ta-Dock for a week. Joe and Laura are the best hosts I have ever met. They are kind and genuine people who have a passion for running a resort business. They went above and beyond to help us and make us feel welcome. Joe lent us $22 BZE when we ordered delivery, but we only had large bills and the delivery guy did not have change. Laura provided us with supplies from her first aid kit after a bicycle fell on my leg and scraped it. My husband helped me clean and sanitize my wound and put two bandages over it. Laura also gave me two more bandages to keep just in case. Another day Joe and Laura shared freshly made corn tortilla chips and canned salsa with us plus another couple because it was one person’s birthday. Joe and Laura treated us not like guests, but like someone would treat a friend.
We enjoyed kayaking in the bay and exploring Corozal by bicycle. We had Wi-Fi at the resort, but occasionally it would disconnect, especially on our last night there. Also, one night we tried to shower, but water was cold. It was late, so we reported this to Joe the following day. Turns out each cabana has an individual on demand water heater and ours ran out of gas (propane). The propane tank was promptly replaced and we were able to enjoy warm showers. Also, just a heads up: The water is shallow and there are rocks of various sizes at the bottom of the bay, so I suggest wearing water shoes and avoid diving except at the very end of the dock (check with Joe for an appropriate...
