We initially enjoyed our interactions with David and Wayne until there was an issue. We were very trusting naïve Canadians, please beware if you are a long term renter we felt forced to leave after only 4 months! Unfortunately we are in this situation because of a hostile non compromising tenants' on going unrealistic demands. We have had to having to follow legal requirements within Belize Law in notifying them the intent to proceed to our legal next steps. We have had to filed a legal landlord tenant complaint since they have kept our last month rent, meaning you are not allowed enter or be on the premise, which they have done illegally without notification, our presence or permission. We have cited the fraud for the illegal security deposit without proof of any damage outside of dog hair (LOL we had an approved dog and utilized their management company for the last cleaning), linens and clothing that were damaged by their washing machine and their management company was made aware of when we had to wash linens that were not cleaned prior to us moving in and the solution provided was to add vinegar to the water when running the next cycle, what a joke! We tried to resolve the issues but they were admit about keeping our $4800 US. We have been more than tolerant of inappropriate and lack of resolution via landlord/management of other tenant behavior. This has been one of the most horrific experiences in all of our travels of over 40 countries. It is sad what greed and ambivalence does and how it impacts lives. We were only advised to...
Read moreMy family and I recently spent 6 weeks at Bay's Edge and not sure which adjective will adequately describe our experience - fabulous? unbelievable? incredible? Perhaps extraordinary will suffice! Most importantly, David and Wayne are absolutely wonderful hosts, attentive but not intrusive and very respectful of the privacy of their guests. Bay's Edge's location is perfect - walking distance to Maya Beach and its fabulous restaurants, and just 7 miles from the Placencia village at the south end of the peninsula. Therefore, Bay's Edge is very convenient for pickup by tours headed north, or for car trips to Hopkins and the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary where you can go river tubing, hike, or find a waterfall basin to swim in. But honestly, some of our best days were spent hanging around Bay's Edge to kayak in the lagoon, enjoy amazing sunsets over the mountains, bird watch, or host an evening grill and happy hour on the dock. We've traveled around the world and stayed in too many wonderful places to remember them all, but we will always...
Read moreThis is a gated community of 6 townhouses for long-term renters, it's not a hotel. It's absolutely beautiful here. Rooftop decks have views of the lagoon all the way to the Maya mountain range as a backdrop. Sunsets are stunning. As we are on the thinnest part of the peninsula, turn the other way & see right across to the ocean. The sound of crickets & waves make you want to sleep outdoors, or at least keep your windows open at night. Plenty of hot water & cold AC. New appliances, comfy beds, & every modern convenience. I absolutely recommend this amazing community of friendly neighbours. The owner is a wonderful, warm, & kind person who puts love & care into the entire property. You are missing out if you're not living here as part of your expat experience in Belize. It's simply marvelous. We are so happy here, especially since the Seine Bight neighborhood is a very short 5 minute...
