Stayed in condo A1, 28 days, January 5 through February 8, 2025, ground floor.
Depending on flushing within the complex, both bathrooms have sewer gas smell. The front bedroom is missing one of the closet screws. I believe the wax seal is deteriorated and needs to be replaced. The sinks do not have stoppers but they do have the proper traps so the sewer gas is not originating there. The toilet paper holder is loose and about to fall off the wall. The front bathroom tub fill spout is very loose. You have to hold it with both hands to activate the shower diverter. Doing this, you are treated with a blast of cold water till the hot water clears the line. There seems to be enough hot water for a decent shower. The cook stove rocks back and forth and interferes with the drawer so you can't open it all the way. There are no warning signs to not flush toilet paper in either bathroom. It is common practice in Belize to discard spent toilet paper in a covered container for disposing. There were no covered containers in either bathroom. After complaining, two were provided. The water pressure and flow are very low. We were without water for one day because a pipe or pump needed replacement. Water is precious on the island so flow was not an issue. However, water was shut off without notification. Vacasa informed us that water was off in town so that was the issue. However, we came to find out that our condo, A1 ground floor was the only condo in the complex affected. We looked around the complex utilities and noticed that 4, 2 inch valves were shut off. We didn't mess with them but reported the issue to Vacasa. We reported that someone was messing with the utilities. That's when the truth was revealed that there was a pipe failure. We got water back the next morning. We could have made different plans if we were informed. The smoke detector went into low battery mode in our bedroom, very loud annoying chirping sound at 5 AM. We immediately reported it to Vacasa but listened to that chirp till we had to leave. The maintenance person didn't have a key to get in so the battery and step ladder was left at the back door for us to perform the battery replacement. I came early at 5 PM with the luggage to open up the condo. The code sent to me didn't work. Apparently it was changed and I didn't receive it till the next day. Luckily, the washer and dryer was broken and maintenance people showed up to fix it. They let me and our luggage in. Then: While the maintenance people were fixing the washer/dryer, I tried to hook up to the internet. I noticed that the modern on the refrigerator was dead. The maintenance people tried to get it to power on but it was dead. Vacasa gave me access to a neighbor unit's modem. That was acceptable. They replaced the modem the next day. The good things about blue water beach condos are the beachfront. Nice view of the reef and direct beach access. The dock is in good repair. They make an attempt at cleaning up the sargasso grass by pitching it back into the ocean. The pool had a lot of debris in it. We have been here for over 20 days and yesterday a person showed up to clean the pool, clean up the sargasso grass, machete some palm fronds and fallen coconuts. The pool looks ok.
We have been vacationing in Belize every year for 5 years. This was our worst rental...
Read moreWe really liked this villa and the pool. The beach was dirty with sea grass (sargassum), and garbage that washed up on shore. The maintenance guy tried raking it up, but then he put it back into the ocean again, the sea grass. The garbage he did remove. So it made the beach not useable. There is sand and beach chairs on the property right in front of the beach so you can sun tan and enjoy the sun. The rooms were clean and spacious, bathroom nice too. The other draw back was that it was about 30 mins from San Pedro. So if you need food and supplies it's a bit of a trip. When we went it sort of mosquito season they said. So when we got back to the villa from hanging out we had to run to our room. Because the mosquitos were bad. The first day we arrived I got bit 15 times. I learned to spray bug spray when I left the room to go to the golf cart and when we got back. It was only by the cart parking because of the vegetation that was close by. By the pool and beachy area it was fine. The villa was well equipped all the amenities. The room air conditioning worked great. The good thing about being a little far from the center of town is that it was very peaceful and quiet. Most of the time we had the pool and the beachy area...
Read moreDecent stay. I’m going to give the details in which these other reviewers did not. I stayed in apartments D2 and D3 for 4 nights each. For the bad.. it’s far from town about a 30 minute EXTREMELY BUMPY ride. If you have any kind of back or Lowe body pain this place isn’t for you. I personally didn’t mind because I traveled with my kids and they loved it. I didn’t mind being away from town there’s great bars and restaurants up North plus it’s close to secret beach. This place is INFESTED with mosquitoes. This is not an overstatement please see my pictures and videos. Bug spray is a must. Each morning when you wake up your balcony will be COVERED with these mosquitoes. D3 had broken off washer we didn’t get new water There was also a sewage smell coming from both D2 and D3. We would leave the house to go explore and come back to an awful smell in the apartment. D2 had roaches in one of the bathroom showers. Small and few but still when you turned on the light they would scatter. D2 has no full length mirror The apartments are spacious, and the balconies too. Great pool and dock to walk to the palapa. Very quiet not busy like a hotel. However I wouldn’t stay here again I’d probably splurge more and spend on a nice hotel...
